The third annual Carson High School vs. Douglas High School Charity Basketball Game lit up CHS Wednesday, Nov. 15 and, as rivalry was put aside, it turned out to be the most successful basketball game fundraiser in CHS history with $10,000 raised for the seven students injured in the Nov. 9 vehicle accident on Kings Canyon Road.

There will be a candlelight gathering on Sunday, 6:30 p.m. at Bob McFadden Plaza in Carson City for the seven high school students who were injured in a vehicle crash that happened Thursday night on Kings Canyon Road.

UPDATE: 3:31PM: The suspect who escaped a Carson City prison work camp and stole a water truck, crashing it Wednesday morning on Foothill Road in Douglas County had attempted to steal another vehicle, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

Cameron was a shooting star that was here only for a moment before he cruised to heaven. His smile, blue eyes, and charm lit up the room wherever he went. May his bright light shine forever and always be remembered. He was just 18 years old and graduated from Pioneer High School in Carson City, Nevada.

More and more, we hear about or meet people suffering from fibromyalgia, a chronic disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, and tenderness in localized areas. It has also been linked to headaches, anxiety, sleep issues, fatigue and depression.

While the cause has not been pinned down, most researchers agree the primary cause is a breakdown in the normal function of the central nervous system, which creates an abnormal perception of pain. This breakdown can be triggered by something as simple as bad posture or by something as traumatic as a car accident.

Police officers, firemen, and EMTs rushed into the burning buildings attempting to save as many as possible. When the buildings collapsed, the heroic rescuers were killed, giving their lifes to save others. That's what public-sector employees do. That's what unions do.

A single-vehicle accident tonight in Carson City on Highway 50 has traffic tied up near China East restaurant.

The car accident, reported at 5:49 p.m., happened moments after a CareFlight helicopter had landed at Carson High School to pick up a patient who, in a separate incident, fell at their home near the Carson City Fire Station and experienced possible life-threatening injuries.

Two Care Flight helicopters were summoned to the Carson City Airport this afternoon on two separate medical events including a car accident involving a child.

The car accident in the Northgate Lane area of Carson City was reported at 1:37 this afternoon. In a separate call, at 1:38, an air ambulance was needed for an overdose patient, Sheriff Ken Furlong said.

Reports are that a 10-year-old girl was injured in the car accident, Furlong said. The extent of the child's injuries are unknown, Furlong added.
