Douglas County Secret Witness is seeking information on a stolen vehicle recovered Feb. 20 at Mont Bleu Resort Casino in Stateline.

Senator Square: Seventh annual 5K Run/Walk this Saturday at CHS

It is time for a great workout at Carson High School to both support its students and potentially win a race, not to mention avoid a heart attack.

The seventh annual Safe and Sober 2017 5K Run/Walk at the CHS track facility, presented by Carson High Safe Grad Booster, is set for Feb. 11.

Fire engulfs Tahoe Queen at Zephyr Cove

UPDATE 7PM: Investigators and vessel inspectors from Coast Guard Sector San Francisco are on the scene of Tuesday's fire on board the 119-foot passenger Lake Tahoe paddle wheel boat, the Tahoe Queen.

"Most of the damage is limited to the boat's pilot house and second deck," Lt. Jake Aulner of the U.S. Coast Guard told South Tahoe Now. "This can be attributed to the great response by the Tahoe Douglas Fire Department."
Aulner and the team from USCG Yerba Buena Island will be at the scene until the cause of the morning blaze is determined.

Red's takes best overall at Taste of Downtown

Results of the 2016 Taste of Downtown Carson City fundraiser for Advocates to End Domestic Violence (AEDV) are in, and Red's Old 395 Grill on South Carson Street claimed the Best Overall award out of the nearly 40 restaurants competing at Saturday's event.

When you first set foot inside the doors of Bleu Café at 240 E. Winnie Lane in Carson City, the ambiance is reminiscent of a café from the streets of Old World Europe.

The atmosphere is light, airy and spacious. Tables and chairs are arranged around the 1,500 square-foot dining area to resemble seating at an outdoor café in famous Old World destinations like Paris or Rome.

Even the polished stone breakfast bar and dark wood hutch behind it have Old World charms to them.

Carson City Classic Cinema Club hosts Hollywood Gala Dinner and Fundraiser

The Carson City Classic Cinema Club presents the First Annual Hollywood Gala Dinner and Fundraiser at the Gold Dust West Casino, on Saturday, July 18. In celebrating the Club's first Anniversary, the theme of the event is the First Academy Awards of 1929.

Festivities of the Gala include a Red-Carpet Photo Op, Sit-Down Dinner, Raffles, and Silent Auction. The Club will also present it's first Carson Arts Studies Trust (CAST) Award to The Boys and Girls Club. Prizes will be awarded for the best Classic Celebrity Costume and for the best 1920s fashion.

Carson City cheese maker among USDA grant recipients in Northern Nevada

Tahoe Cheese Company of Carson City is one of three area food producers to receive federal grant money to expand production and market their Northern Nevada products, the USDA announced Thursday. McCleary Ranch, north of Carson City in Washoe County and the Frey Ranch Estate Distillery of Fallon were also approved for Value-Added Producer Grants.

Carson city deputies arrest five on felony charges during weekend patrol

A 50-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday on a felony charge of possession of a stolen vehicle after he had been stopped and then took off running from officers before being caught, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

James Dean Anderson was taken into custody at 4:38 p.m. in the 1500 block of Continental Drive. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of obstructing a police officer and driving on a revoked license for DUI.

River rafting begins along the Truckee River at Lake Tahoe

The dam gates are open and the river is flowing, and rafting along North Lake Tahoe’s scenic Truckee River is now open.

Tahoe City-based Truckee River Rafting opened Tuesday, June 12. Truckee River Raft Company, also in Tahoe City, opens today, Thursday, June 14. The companies offer self-guided, five-mile floats down the Truckee River.

There's a new breakfast in town: Cafe at Adele's
