Forest Service firefighter from Lake Tahoe deployed to Australia; BLM sends Carson City fuels program manager

Two are already there, with four on the way including a Fuels Program Manager from Carson City who is serving as a plans chief. Other personnel are from the Battle Mountain District, an assistant Superintendent for the Silver State Hotshots, a helicopter supervisor from the Elko District and an Engine Captain from Southern Nevada.

But, unbeknownst to Royce, she had even more to celebrate!

Couple arrested in Carson City store parking lot for fighting over and shaking child
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Fri, 09/13/2019 - 10:51amAccording to the police report, two teenagers were arrested in a store parking lot in the 1900 block of N. Carson Street for engaging in a physical altercation while a two-month-old infant between them.
A 19-year-old transient man and an 18-year-old transient woman were booked on child neglect/endangerment and domestic battery first after several concerned citizens called deputies to respond to a fight. The reporting parties stated there was a man and a woman physically fighting in the parking lot and pulling an infant from each other during the fight.
Survivors of Carson City infant hostage situation now facing potential eviction

She received a message from her husband, who she had separated from six weeks previous, that he wanted to come over and make their children breakfast and take them to the park. ShaRae agreed, as any mother would.
When her husband, Cortney Staley, arrived, nothing seemed amiss. He came and made their children breakfast, and she went to work.

Carson Mall Bingo to benefit Jimenez Brothers

This occurred during a return trip from Las Vegas. Alberto Jimenez surfed a broken femur along with a serious facial laceration. His brother Alejandro Jimenez will need physical therapy to strengthen his body after the crash.

Dinah had a soft as cotton, tough as leather sound of someone who had seen more in her 39 years than you or I will ever see.
Carson City deputies called to residence on report of an ‘agitated’ man with a gun, children inside

UPDATE 8:45 p.m.: Several series of gunfire could be heard as well as shouting from law enforcement on scene.
UPDATE 7:54 p.m.: Another gun shot.
UPDATE 7:06 p.m.: Another gun shot, followed by more shouting.
UPDATE 7:03 p.m.: A large commotion followed by shouting could be heard coming from the residence.

He was returning home from barber school when the incident occurred.
Carson City Elks grilling demonstration by Chef Sparky raises money for vets

Al Bergstrom, Elks officer and a veteran, chaired the event. Sean “Sparky” Walsh of 9 Dots Creative Kitchens, also a veteran, donated his time when presenting his skills and tips on how to grill various meats successfully. Donations were accepted for our area veterans programs.
