The money was donated throughout the year by the membership to their President’s Project, Jan Solberg, Jr. Past President and Brenda Horton, President.
Ladies Auxiliary of the Fleet Reserve Association - Sierra Tahoe Unit #137 Celebrate Members

During the event, the Past Presidents were recognized for their dedication and achievements during their tenure. In addition, the Ladies Auxiliary also recognized their members with 5 or more years of service. One of the members, Mercedes Dunham, having 35 years of membership, was unable to attend. Brenda Horton, President and Joyce Jackson, Secretary surprised her at home on July 8th and presented her with the 35 year membership pin. Needless to say it was a happy occasion.
I-580 Washoe Valley lane closures begin Friday night for NDOT repaving project
Submitted by editor on Fri, 05/13/2016 - 9:04amWeekend lane closures will take place beginning Friday, May 13 on Interstate 580 through Washoe Valley as the Nevada Department of Transportation continues a project to repave the aging roadway surface.
Northbound I-580 will be reduced to a single lane from 7 p.m. Friday, May 13 to 5 a.m. Monday, May 16 between the exit 50 Bowers Mansion interchange and the I-580/North Carson Street interchange for paving.

Nevada participates in Spring Aboard national boating safety and education campaign

Developed by NASBLA, and produced under a grant administered by the U.S. Coast Guard, the Spring Aboard campaign brings together state, federal and nonprofit partners to encourage boaters to enroll in a boating education course before boating season kicks off.

These articles were written to educate and inform you, the motoring public, on a variety of issues from drinking and driving to pedestrian safety and other situations that arose during the year.
Now, as you travel to your holiday destinations to spend time with loved ones and friends, I ask that you take some time to consider what I have written about. Arriving safely should be your number one priority.
Carson City area road report for the week of Dec. 21-27

Carson Street off-ramp. There will be nightly lane closures from 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. beginning Sunday evening through Wednesday morning.
Carson City area road report: December 14 to 20

In addition, Third Street will be temporarily closed to through traffic between Carson and Curry Streets for a brief time period. Detours will be signed.
