Carson Valley Community Theatre Call for Auditions for Summer Production

Mark your calendars and come to The Annex, 1572 Hwy 395 in Minden. Auditions are on Thursday, April 29 at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 1 at 10 a.m. Those auditioning should prepare a song and bring music for piano accompaniment or a back-track. We will be casting two men and two women of any age for the show.

The theme, Destination Unknown, was decided upon; since students are not allowed to experience the vacations they love, they are bringing their vacation destinations to CHS.

The American Cancer Society is hosting a poker run Saturday at Mills Park, and a free lacrosse clinic for kids ages 6-12 will be held at John L. Harvey Field. The Nevada Humane Society is virtually hosting its annual “Adopt a Duck” fundraiser for interested participants. There's also the Jazz and Beyond Carson City Music Festival that will feature the Wesley Orsolic Trio during Wheeled Food Wednesday at the BAC, with jams to continue at Living the Good Life; there's also a real estate workshop for veterans, art showings, salsa dancing and more. Gilson Going Solo at PLNU Chamber Orchestra Concerto Concert

Such is not a new experience for 2018 Sierra Lutheran High School alumna Aleyna Gilson, who will find the spotlight on her again at the end of this month when she performs Mendelssohn’s concerto in E minor at the Orchestra Concerto Concert at Point Loma Nazarene University, in San Diego.
Sierra Lutheran alum of Carson City chases another tiger tail in pursuit of doctorate

After the Carson City product received his Bachelors of Science in Psychology, with a Minor in Linguistics last year from Louisiana State University, the LSU Tigers alum, and 2014 Sierra Lutheran High School graduate, is now pursuing study of a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at LSU.
