A sunny summer weekend has arrived and it brings numerous fun ways to seize the day. You can always head out hiking or spend the day at the pool, but the Carson City Fair is just here until Sunday. Farm animals, great exhibits, live entertainment, a carnival, and a bull-riding rodeo can be found at Fuji Park. Park your car at the Super Walmart on Topsy and you’ll be treated to a free shuttle. Go a little bit country at the Brewery Arts Center tonight; they are bringing back the Southern Drawl Band to the Minnesota Street Stage for this week’s free concert.

Boy Scouts of America Troop 33 will host its 4th annual “Send a Scout to Camp” Car and Truck Show Fundraiser on August 12, 2017 at Fuji Park in Carson City.

Returning for a 24th year is the Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada (BGCWN) Luau auction and barbecue to be held Saturday, Sept. 9 from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Multipurpose Athletic Center (MAC) and the BGCWN main campus on Russell Way in Carson City.

Telegraph Square has a stage set up for the Taste of Downtown tomorrow, so the Carson High Class of ’77 is hosting a street party with Prey for Son tonight. In February of 1870, the sparkling new steam-powered coin press inside the United States Mint in Carson City struck its first coin, a Seated Liberty silver dollar with a crisp CC mint mark.

Each year horse racing, a county fair and other traditional events dating back almost 100 years bring together neighbors and visitors alike in the remote town of Ely, Nevada. This year, the festivities planned Aug. 20 and 21 include a solar eclipse train ride on the historic Nevada Northern Railway.

Are you ready for one of the best Wednesdays of the year? The annual Concert Under the Stars just gets bigger and better every year. Food trucks, a silent auction, an exciting live auction, and of course, some amazing music – this year, the Family Stone will be rocking the Brewery Arts Center Minnesota Street Stage. For some quieter entertainment, Doug Watson appears as ‘Will Rogers’ at Dangberg Home Historic Ranch. Take the kids to Galaxy Theaters tonight and introduce them to a timeless favorite, The Sandlot.

The live auction has become an integral and fun part of every evening during Concert Under the Stars, A Benefit for The Greenhouse Project, presenting The Family Stone, Lydia Pense and Cold Blood, Wednesday, July 12 at Brewery Arts Center, Carson City.

What began 12 years ago as a music celebration in the back parking lot at Cafe at Adele’s has now grown past the confines of John Street — adjacent to the restaurant — and moves this year to Brewery Arts Center in Carson City.

Planes, trains, and automobiles take over Carson City this weekend. Steampunk ‘N’ Trains at the Nevada Railroad Museum features train rides, fun costumes, food trucks and more. You’ll find two car shows in town – the Party at the Pavilion as part of the Nevada State Fair and the Carson City Downtown Revival Car Show at the Carson Nugget. The stars will be shining bright tonight, though, Western Nevada Musical Theater Company debuts its spring musical ‘Nice Work if You Can Get It’ complete with amazing choreography, melodies, and an exceptional cast. Cinco de Mayo parties all over town offer up food and drink specials, in addition to the fun times that can usually be found on a Friday night. The Earth Spirit Faire has returned to the Nevada state capital, featuring several craft vendors and practitioners in the healing arts, massage, and intuitive readings inside the Carson City Community Center gymnasium Saturday and Sunday.

Hold on to your hat, the weekend is here. If it’s a cowboy hat, head over to Genoa for their annual Cowboy Festival. Plenty of free things to see, hear, and experience await. The annual Spring Earth Spirit Faire lets you celebrate Mother Earth with workshops, holistic practitioners, great vendors, and a raffle. It benefits the Heart to Heart School and Advocates to End Domestic Violence so it’s always worth checking out. The Littlest things will be holding our annual tea party at the Governor's Mansion this year.

This event is one of our two annual fundraisers helping to raise funds for the animals we rescue and the farm animals in our petting zoo.

The American Tea Mistresses will be there. We have a great silent Auction planned, terrific raffle prizes, food and tea!

The Littlest Things non-profit rescues animals, holds petting zoo events teaching families how to care for farm animals, and hosts kindness events in the community.

Dozens of vendors are expected in celebration of Earth at the annual Earth Spirit Faire held this year at the Carson City Community Center this Saturday and Sunday, April 29 - 30. The faire runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Carson City Community Center.

The public is invited to Run for the Roses with the Rotary Club of Carson City and watch the Kentucky Derby live on Saturday, May 6 at the Brewery Arts Center Black Box Theater.

A benefit event to raise money for the surviving children of Heavenly Schwitchenberg, who died recently in a car accident, takes place today, Thursday, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Gold Canyon Cafe, 160 Main St., in Old Town Dayton.
