MLB trade deadline is more like Christmas in August
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Tue, 08/02/2016 - 1:34amThe MLB Trade Deadline has come and gone. For baseball fanatics it is Christmas in August. The baseball world goes into a frenzy with contending clubs trying to out do their closest competitor(s) for a stretch run into the playoffs and what all hope to be eventually a winning combination to the World Series.
For the Bay Area teams it was much of the same as it as been in recent seasons. San Francisco buys, and Oakland sells.
Although, some may say the Giants sold a little bit of their future today to win now and keep with the "even year" theme.
Pence loves elevation, Panik and Adrianza do well in rehab loss to Aces
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Thu, 07/28/2016 - 8:27amHunter Pence continued his AAA assault last night in Reno by hitting his second home run in as many nights at once again a Giants' friendly Greater Nevada Field.
I think he loves the thin air and elevation.
Pence came into the game batting a modest .500 (8 for 16) and added 2 more RBI to his total since being on his rehab assignment giving him 6 in 6 games. It was his third home run since being with Sacramento.
Pence played a full nine innings for a second straight night which have a lot of people believing his return to San Francisco is extremely close.
Pence gives Giants' friendly crowd in Reno an exciting (and hopeful) performance
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Wed, 07/27/2016 - 8:55amHunter Pence has been having a lot of fun since being with the Sacramento Rivercats on a rehab assignment from a hamstring injury.
Since Pence has returned to baseball with the AAA affiliate of the Giants all he has done in 5 games is hit .500 (8 for 16) with 2 HR's 4 RBI. He played the entire game in Reno last night which is an extremely good sign for the Giants.
