Carson City Sheriff's Office arrests: Man booked for alleged child pornography crimes
A 31-year-old man was arrested Monday on a felony warrant for the charges of alleged distribution of child pornography, possession of child pornography and luring a child by use of a computer for the purpose of engaging in sexual acts, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Jared Allen Croley of Carson City was taken into custody at 1:28 p.m. by the Carson City Sheriff's Office and Parole and Probation.
The Carson City Sheriff's Office was notified by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding the alleged crimes committed. The Department of Homeland Security was also involved in the investigation.
The warrant was issued out of Carson City Justice Court on Dec. 3, 2021 and carries a $75,000 bail. He was being held without bail for parole and probation violation.
In other Carson City Sheriff's Office arrests:
— A Reno man, Christopher Jonathan Moreno, was arrested early Tuesday for a felony failure to appear warrant, and the following offenses: felony possession of a concealed weapon, misdemeanor obstructing an officer by false statement, and drug paraphernalia. Bail: $10,000.
— A Carson City woman, Alibi Smith, was arrested early Tuesday morning for felony parole violation and the following alleged offenses: gross misdemeanor child endangerment, misdemeanor DUI and basic speeding. She was being held without bail due to the parole and probation violation.
— A 24-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday for suspicion of DUI second offense, driving on a suspended driver's license, fictitious registration and no proof of insurance.
According to a booking report, a deputy investigating a traffic accident on East Nye and College Parkway requested a deputy to investigate a possible DUI.
Officers observed the male driver having red watery eyes and slurred speech. The driver told a deputy that he had a few drinks at lunch earlier in the day, according to the booking report.
Deputies were advised by dispatch that the man's driver's license was suspended effective Nov. 20, 2020. The man did not have proof of insurance and his registration was surrendered, the booking report states.
A deputy conducted field sobriety tests on the man, who showed clues of impairment. He provided a preliminary breath test with a result over .08. He was arrested for suspicion of DUI. At jail he agreed to evidentiary breath tests where he provided two breath samples over .08 BAC, according to the booking report. Bail: $2,500.
