Local Art Gallery Nominated for Small Business of the Year Award
Carson City, NV–The national small business movement, Independent We Stand, announced the quarterfinalists of the 2015 Independent We Stand Independent Small Business of the Year Award. Nearly 22,000 votes were cast for 315 nominees during the nominations phase. For the second year in a row, Artsy Fartsy Art Gallery has been nominated for this award and made it to the quarter-final stage of voting.
Artsy Fartsy Art Gallery, locally owned and operated by Jeffery Pace, represents over 65 Northern Nevada artists with works ranging from oils, acrylics, jewelry, textiles, reclaimed materials and much more.
Artsy Fartsy Art Gallery is proud to give back to the community all year through various events and fund-raising for local non-profit organizations. Since the gallery opened in June 2011, over $21,000 has been donated or raised through the gallery. Some of the local causes supported include the Carson City Symphony Association, Wendy Robards Universal Dream Park, Douglas Animal Welfare Group and Advocates to End Domestic Violence.
“I’m passionate about art and my community and am grateful to be able to live the dream by doing and sharing what I love most.” - Jeffery Pace.
“Independently owned businesses re-invest in their local economies at a much higher rate than big-box stores,” says Bill Brunelle, co-founder of Independent We Stand. “This year’s quarter- finalists are a great representation of independent businesses across the country, and this award is our way of recognizing these businesses for their outstanding efforts within the communities they serve.”
Voting is now underway at www.IndieBizAward.com through Dec. 13 to determine this year's grand prize winner. The 2015 Indie winner will be announced Dec. 16 and will receive prizes with a combined value of more than $10,000.
Voters may visit the website to cast one vote every 24 hours. To vote for Artsy Fartsy Art Gallery, go to http://www.independentwestand.org/indies/profile.php?id=35
This announcement precedes Small Business Saturday on Nov. 28, encouraging holiday shoppers to support these businesses over big boxes and national chains.
