St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Carson City unveils captivating new exterior lighting
In a remarkable blend of tradition and modernity, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, on the corners of Division and Telegraph Streets, has unveiled an enchanting transformation with its newly installed exterior lighting.
Long heralded as “the historic jewel of Carson City,” this aesthetic enhancement not only revitalizes the church's architectural elegance but also extends a gracious invitation to the local community and visitors alike.
St. Peter’s, with its rich history spanning over 160 years, has always been a beacon of faith, culture, and history within the city. The church's quaint traditional exterior, adorned with intricate details that reflect its territorial origin, has now been tastefully illuminated by state-of-the-art exterior lighting, expertly designed to accentuate its timeless beauty.
The lighting project, a collaborative effort between Outdoor LIghting Perspectives of Reno-Lake Tahoe and the church's vestry, was undertaken with immense care to preserve the historical integrity of the structure while seamlessly integrating modern lighting technology. The result is a captivating symphony of light and shadows that highlights the church's finest features, including its iconic steeple, memorial garden, meditation labyrinth, and the adjacent historic rectory building.
Father Jeff Paul, the priest of St. Peter’s, expressed his enthusiasm about the transformation, stating, "The new exterior lighting is more than just a visual upgrade; it's a symbol of our church's ongoing commitment to honor the past while embracing the future. We hope that these lights will not only make our church a striking visual in the evenings but also create a sense of warmth and welcome for everyone who passes by."
The project's success has not gone unnoticed by the community. Becca Van Sickle, a resident of Carson City and a regular attendee of the church, shared her thoughts on the new lighting, saying, "The church has always been a special place for me, and this lighting just makes it even more magical. It's as if the history and spirit of the place come alive in a whole new way."
The installation of the new exterior lighting also aligns with the church's commitment to sustainability. The lighting system employs energy-efficient LED technology, minimizing its environmental impact while ensuring a mesmerizing visual display for years to come.
As the sun sets on the historic west side, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church stands illuminated in a soft, inviting glow, a beacon of faith, history, and community connection. With this innovative enhancement, the church not only pays homage to its storied past but also opens its doors to a future illuminated by the bonds between its congregation and the wider community.
