Carson Football Wraps Up Spring Football Practice
The Carson High School Football team wrapped up their spring practices Thursday with a 7 on 7 match-up with the Fernley Vaqueros. It was a positive showing for the Senators as Quarterback Will Breeding threw four touchdowns to four different receivers.
Carson's first unit defense performed well against an athletic Fernley squad. Returning players from last season include Bradley Maffei, Gilbert Vasquez, Jeremy Heaton, Manny Vasquez, Jonny Laplante, Luke Konrad, Randy Herrera, and Sethro Griffith. Breeding, a 6'4" sophomore, lettered in football and basketball, seeing action at Wide Receiver last season with the football squad.
The Senators goal for the 2019 Season is to bring a renewed attitude to the field coming off an uncharacteristic season last year. They finished 2-8 and out of the regional playoffs for the first time since 2012. Coach Blair Roman's squad will open the season on the road at Lower Lake High School on August 23rd. The Senators' first home game is scheduled for September 6th against McQueen High School at 7 pm.
