Carson City Parks and Rec, Humane Society team up for 'Tails and Trails' dog adoption event
The Carson City Park’s, Recreation and Open Space department, along with the Nevada Humane Society, will be hosting a Tails and Trails Dog Adoption Event at Riverview Park Feb. 26, 2022 from 10 a.m. to noon.
The Nevada Humane Society will be bringing out shelter dogs that are in need of their forever home. You’ll get some time to bond with your favorite pup and adopt them right on sight at Riverview Park. They may go fast, so be sure to come out early if you are looking for a new best friend.
Also, enjoy educational information regarding dogs in the outdoors from the Carson City Park Rangers. They will have informational hand outs on Leave No Trace ethics, Carson City Dog Parks, and helpful safety tips while recreating outdoors with your furry friends. The Park Rangers will also lead some educational walks around Riverview Park discussing the area and pointing out the helpful dog safety tips; be sure to bring your newly adopted friend with you or your pup from home!
Other booths will include Carson Animal Services Initiative (CASI), Carson City Adopt a Mutt Mitt program, and The Carson Water Subconservancy District (CWSD). Learn how to adopt and fill your favorite mutt mitt station in Carson City as well as the importance of keeping our watershed clean by cleaning up after your pet. Riverview Park is one of the most popular areas in Carson City to enjoy the Carson River, which makes it even more important that we keep the area clean from pet waste.
