Men's healing circle The Rising Suns meets Feb. 20 at Carson City's Miller Wellness Center

Event Date:
February 20, 2024 - 6:30pm

The Rising Suns is a Carson City area men’s circle. We gather weekly to share our life stories, challenges, dramas, and traumas in a supportive and judgment-free space. This is authentic men’s work in which we learn to accept ourselves fully.

We embrace the whole masculine, giving voice to our thoughts, feelings, and impulses instead of repressing them. We express our personalities and celebrate our unique styles, gifts, and talents.

Often, guys are conditioned with “be a man!” and “don’t talk about it,” which pushes us into emotional isolation. Many men go through life without ever talking about what’s happening or how they feel. This can result in a pressure buildup that often results in burnout, blow up, or meltdown.

This group was created in response to this need: for brotherhood, for community, and for brave men to gather in times of increasing social volatility. The group meets bi-weekly, 6:30 p.m. at Miller Wellness Center, 104 W Telegraph Street, Carson City. The next meeting is Tuesday, Feb. 20.

We do not discuss the details of what’s shared in the circle. Confidentiality is a primary value. In this gathering, we connect with our inner power and embody the Divine Masculine through speaking with an open heart, listening with an open mind, and connecting with the Divine.

About the Organizer

Erick Keene is a Men's Empowerment Coach and Space Holder. He helps clients master their self-worth and masculinity so they can be the men they've always wanted to be, and live a life that aligns with their values and purpose.

Erick draws from a multitude of models, modalities, and theories to customize an action-based plan that is tailored to you. He connects men with their authentic masculine, releasing stagnant emotional energy and limiting beliefs that block their potential.

His philosophy is this: love yourself, have compassion for yourself, and honor your feelings. In a world where men are taught to “be tough,” Erick sources his love of technology, culture, and the healing arts to integrate parts of ourselves that we tend to shut down. He also works through food and fashion to help you feel, and look, your best.

Erick also specializes in helping men transform their relationship with pornography, fostering healthier communication skills, and teaching them to hold space for both themselves and their loved ones. By creating a safe and open environment within their structures, Erick guides men in navigating the complexities of modern relationships while empowering them to cultivate genuine connections based on understanding, respect, and emotional intelligence.

Personal sessions with Erick are informed by Theta Healing, Access Consciousness, Internal Family Systems informed, and Reiki. His first step is to discover you. From there, he develops a plan to help you achieve your goals and start living a life that feels richer with purpose. He also hosts a weekly Men’s group and luncheon on
Meetup.

Erick’s coaching is anchored in triumph over adversity. After enduring sexual trauma, substance abuse, and an accident that would change the course of his life, he turned his life around and started doing the things he loves most. His integrity comes from years of professional study and personal practice.

Erick’s wish is that we all realize we are divine beings, and embody and create a world of unity, compassion, and love. And so it is.
