State Route 208 Lyon County in Wilson Canyon to close Monday for roadway repaving

Visiting Artists Demonstrate Techniques April 2 at East Fork Gallery in Gardnerville

Carson City Parks and Rec, Pioneer Center partner to offer free performances for youth

Murder victim identified in Hard Rock shooting at Tahoe, suspect in custody
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Sat, 03/25/2023 - 4:16pmThe Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) held a press conference a short time ago to provide updates on today's shooting at the Hard Rock Hotel in Stateline, Nev. According to DCSO Sheriff Dan Coverly, his department was called to the hotel just after 8 a.m. on a report of an active shooter.

Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Sat, 03/25/2023 - 9:23amUPDATE 9:59 a.m.: After nearby Dotty's asked if they could open for business, it was confirmed that nearby businesses could open; however, guests of the Hard Rock are being told to continue sheltering in place until law enforcement can finish sweeping the building.
Law enforcement pulled over a white Toyota 4-Runner with two occupants on US50 west of Sierra-at-Tahoe which is believed to contain the suspect.
UPDATE 9:39 a.m.: Additional SWAT units from Carson are inbound. SR338 to Stateline remains closed.
Lake Tahoe Community College proposed dormitory approved
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Sat, 03/25/2023 - 9:13amDuring its meeting on Wednesday, the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) Governing Board unanimously approved a 33-room, 100-bed dormitory for Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) in South Lake Tahoe.
The dorms will be deed-restricted for low-income LTCC students from the Lake Tahoe region and California only. The target date for opening is July 1, 2025.

This dynamic duo is composed of 1-year old Sakka, a short-haired black female; and Katarra, a one-and-a-half-year-old long haired brown tabby. While they are both sweet and social, they have their own unique personalities and preferences.
