Fred Howland
Fred bought his first camera at age sixteen. His first solo exhibit took place while he was in high school. Following high school, he studied fine art at the Montserrat School of Visual Arts and later photography as a fine art at Rochester Institute of Technology. Over the years Fred has won a number of awards for his fine art photography. His photographs have been shown from coast to coast. Currently, Fred’s work can usually be found at the Nevada Artists Association Gallery at the Brewery Art Center on West King Street, Carson City. In the upcoming issue of the Nevada Magazine you will find one of his photos.
CLASSES
Introduction to Digital Photography
This class is for those who struggle to control their digital camera. The class will cover photographic basics such as: the elements of a digital camera, f/stops, and shutter speeds, ISO settings. At the end of the class the student should know how to use their camera in manual mode and why they should do so. Each session will include ample time for discussion.

From Taking Pictures to Making Photographs
This class is for those who would like to stop taking pictures and start making photographs as art. It’s strongly recommended that the student bring at least one printed image to each session. Their photographs will be critiqued by their peers and receive constructive suggestions and technical advice. Tuesday evenings every other week 6:30 -8:00 pm
