WNC sweeps doubleheader in Colorado
While nothing can be taken for granted, there's no away around it. These are four wins the Western Nevada College baseball team is expected to pick up.
So when snow threatened to postpone one or both games on Friday at Colorado Northwestern Community College, the Wildcats had to be worried. These are wins that WNC needs in the Scenic West Athletic Conference and any games that are lost and not made up could obviously be costly in the SWAC race.
But two inches of snow was cleared off the field and despite not beginning until 3;40 p.m. Mountain time, the two teams were able to play both games and WNC swept the doubleheader, winning the opener 7-2 and the nightcap 14-1.
