CHS boys fall short to Douglas
Especially after Carson High's struggles from the floor, it would have been a finish for the ages.
But the Carson High boys basketball team, despite a valiant effort, couldn't overcome a tough shooting night and fell just short after a furious rally in a 42-37 loss to arch rival Douglas on Friday at Morse Burley Gym.
Both Carson (18-8) and Douglas ended up in a second place tie in the Sierra League at 11-3. The tie breaker came down to Douglas winning the second round game in league play, so the Tigers will go into the Northern 4A playoffs as the league's No. 2 seed, meaning they will host a first round playoff game.
