Over the years, he has collected data from more than fifty herd management areas, and supplied the BLM and the public with valuable research based on hundreds of scientifically based ecological evaluations.

Those serving time here are generally low risk, non-violent, held under minimum security and allowed to take on jobs like fighting wildfires and even training wild horses.

Bureau of Land Management's Carson District removes 45 vehicles abandoned on public land

Many of the vehicles were removed from the Mound House area east of Carson City and north of Reno in the Sun Valley area.

She thought they were beautiful and, being the aspiring photographer that she is, pulled over and hiked out into the field to get some pictures. These horses are exactly what you think of when you think of Wild West Nevada.

She has been involved in anti-slaughter issues for more than two decades, carrying on the work pioneered by Velma Johnston (1912-1977), who came to be known as "Wild Horse Annie" for her fight to gain federal protection of wild horses and burros.

Provide water for wild horses! Phase II Bella Vista Ranch development

Dear Ms/Sir:
Phase II of the Bella Vista Ranch development (between South Meadows Parkway and Rio Wrangler Parkway is approved.
The 77-acre housing development will fence off several hundred horses from their only water source as soon as construction begins.
The development plan (p. 75) originally called for maintaining the horses access to water, but that provision has since been removed and there is no alternative plans for ensuring the horses' access to water!
