Early voting begins in Carson City, statewide

Early voting is underway at the first floor of the Carson City Clerk's Office, 885 E. Musser Street, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, Saturday; again Monday through Friday, Oct. 22-26 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., again on Saturday Oct. 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Monday through Friday, Oct. 29 to Nov. 2, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Numbers released today by Secretary of State Ross Miller’s Elections Division show that Democrats registered nearly twice as many voters than Republicans since the end of September.
Nevada Arts Council Awards Jackpot Grants to Artists

Jackpot grants are awarded on a quarterly schedule and are designed to support arts projects initiated by artists, schools, nonprofit organizations and public institutions. These projects are usually “sudden opportunity events” or applications from groups new to the NAC.

Calling the McKeen Motor Car #70, Virginia & Truckee Railway Motor Car #22, "the best surviving example of the first commercially viable application of internal combustion power in a self-propelled railroad car" the designation possess exceptional value and quality in illustrating or interpreting the heritage of the United States, Salazar said.

You climb up steep mountains with rough terrain trying to catch a bird that is fast and clever and seems to take great joy in taunting you. It makes you wonder why they do it.
“There are so many reasons why chukar hunting is so popular in Nevada,” said Chris Vasey, Western Region outdoor educator at the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW). “It really is the thrill of the chase. I can honestly say there are very few things as rewarding as getting your limit in chukar.”

More layoffs at Chromalloy plant in Carson City; 148 let go in less than a month

Democrats Continue To Outpace Republicans In Voter Registration, Gain 100,000 Edge In Clark County

Today just before noon the Clark County website, which updates registration totals regularly, showed 346,703 Democrats registered to vote compared to 246,479 for Republicans, a 100,224 advantage.
