Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021 that there are 7 additional deaths due to COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. We are also reporting 85 new cases and 25 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 9,632, with 4,968 recoveries and 135 deaths; 4,529 cases remain active.

Wildlife was seen doing what wildlife does recently at Empire Ranch Golf Course in Carson City. This duck was seen ice skating on a frozen pond.

The weather forecast calls for partly sunny skies to continue today and mostly sunny skies on Thursday. By Thursday night into Friday, winds are expected to pick up, bringing in a slight chance of rain and snow showers.
