It's the first Friday of February and things are heating up. Not literally, mind you, that silly groundhog predicted more winter is on its way. Plenty of live music tonight will have you moving and grooving: Mo'z Motley Blues at Living the Good Life, Pawnshop at Westside Pour House, and Decoy at the Max Casino to name a few. Several new art exhibits are opening tonight, so make the rounds to the CCAI Courthouse Gallery, the Carson City Visitor Center, and Paradise Salon Spa Wellness if you want to hit them all.

Sunday, Feb. 21: Things to do around Carson City

Sunday fun includes the Carson Victory Roller’s My Bloody Valentine Scrimmage to benefit CASI and the Nevada Humane Society. Brides-to-be will want to check out the Fall in Love Bridal Festival at Genoa Lakes. Leave the kids at home for Nerdvana’s Adults Gaming Night: you must be 18 or older for this fun.

Artsy Fartsy Art Gallery hosts its annual Champagne and Jewelry party Saturday and offers some amazing hand-crafted bling for your sweetheart. Carson Mall is another great bet for last minute gifts. Several crafters, vendors, and shops make it easy to find something unique. The annual Feast of Chocolate returns to the Plaza Event Center; raising funds for scholarships has never tasted so good.

For those who aren’t a pigskin fan, consider playing a few rounds of bingo to benefit the Carson Animal Shelter Initiative.

Sixteenth annual Feast of Chocolate fundraiser set for Valentine's Day

The 16th Annual Feast of Chocolate at the Carson City Plaza Hotel and Event Center will be held, appropriately Valentine's Day, Saturday, Feb. 14 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased in advance for $15 at the front desk of the Plaza Hotel or $18 at the door. The event is hosted by the American Association of University Women, which empowers women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy and research. Money raised will go to scholarships.
