Donny first entered the public eye when he joined his older brothers’ singing group,”The Osmonds,” and appeared regularly on “The Andy Williams Show.” Donny and Marie both recorded solo albums before joining forces to star on the 1970s TV variety show “Donny & Marie.”

Bill passed Aug. 4 and is once again with his beloved Ardell. They’re both at peace after long battles with Parkinson’s.

A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested for multiple felonies Tuesday after he allegedly brandished a gun and threatened to shoot people inside a Highway 50 East convenience store, a sheriff's deputy said.

Sandy Stec will be headlining the Carson Comedy Club August 24-25 inside the Carson Nugget located at 507 N Carson Street, Carson City. Tickets can purchased at ccnugget.com or at the Winners Club inside the Carson Nugget. The doors open up at 7:15 p.m. and the shows starts at 8 p.m.

Hundreds of Carsonites attended a cast call Tuesday hosted by the Carson Nugget, hoping to become extras in a new TV show "Casino Boss," that will begin filming its pilot this week.

It was a throwback night for a certain generation. In front of a diverse crowd of several thousand fans at Hard Rock Lake Tahoe’s outdoor arena, movie star, producer, director and basketball league owner Ice Cube returned to his musical roots with the energy that earned him worldwide stature.

The first Saturday of the month always plays host to the Downtown Carson City Wine Walk, but with the Jazz and Beyond Musical Festival in full swing, you’ll have even more reasons to meander around downtown. CARSON CITY — A new sitcom called “Casino Boss” starring comedian, movie star and Saturday Night Live alum, Joe Piscopo, is filming in the Carson Nugget Casino, located at 507 N. Carson Street. Show producers are holding a casting call for extras to appear in the pilot at Alatte inside the Nugget Tuesday, August 7 from 4-7 p.m.

Yeah, it’s hot out there, but it’s the area happenings that are sizzling. The Carson City Fair at Fuji Park offers a plethora of entertainment for all ages including tractor pulls, a carnival, and farm animals. Under the shade of the Mills Park cottonwoods, you’ll have all day to peruse the varied vehicles in the annual Run Whatcha Brung Car Show. The sun will come out tomorrow, but it’s the stars that are coming out tonight for the free Levitt Amp Concert at the Brewery Arts Center.

I have long found it impossible to decide which Carson City event is my favorite: forever waffling between Nevada Day and the Taste of Downtown. Seeing as the annual parade is still months away, I’m going to side with ‘The Taste’ purely for its timeliness. With over forty local eateries participating, multiple raffles at downtown shops, and seven bands rocking every corner of the event, it’s practically impossible to have a bad time.
