Bleu Café in Carson City hosts Culinary Travelers Club featuring German Hunter’s Dinner

CARSON CITY — Bleu Café is proud to announce its first Culinary Travelers Club dinner. The dinner will be held on Oct. 17 with a German Hunter theme. There have always been ordinances regarding what is and is not permitted for business signage, but often these rules were pushed to the limits due to codes that were difficult to enforce. Now, a proposed change to business signage ordinances could see these rules being more strictly enforced, as well as creating additional avenues for signage to be displayed.

Due to heavy smoke settling on the area, the RoseBud's Dance Band's performance for Monday, Aug. 6, as part of the Carson City Jazz and Beyond Music and Art Festival has been moved to inside the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, 511 W. King St. The concert was originally planned for Comma Courtyard, but the performers want to present the event in a comfortable and healthy atmosphere.

Free parking at Harveys and Harrah’s Lake Tahoe ends on Monday, July 30. Rates will be more expensive during summertime and ski season and during special events, such as an outdoor concert or the weeklong celebrity golf tournament.

Carson City region gets promotional boosts through Nevada tourism grants

The Nevada Commission on Tourism on Monday approved more than $1 million in grant funding to rural communities to promote tourism through marketing projects. Among the Carson City area programs funded through the marketing grants:

Hot rods to line up for Carson City's Rockabilly Riot at Mills Park

More than 600 cars are expected to roll into Carson City for the annual Rockabilly Riot on June 21-23 in Mills Park.
The show will feature hot rods — most built from the ground up — from 1976 and older.
