Carson boys cap day with 4x400 relay gold medal run

There's always something special about winning the 4x400-meter relay at the end of a track and field meet. A year ago, the Carson High girls celebrated when they won the 4x400 at the Fallon Elks Invitational, and on Saturday, the Carson boys took their turn when the quartet of Taylor Bradshaw, David McMasters, Brandon Buonacorsi and Nick Schlager won to cap off their day at the 37th annual Fallon invite at Churchill County High's Edward Arciniega Athletic Complex.

"A couple of things didn't go our way today, but we just stayed confident and relaxed," Blueberg said after contributing to game-winning seventh-inning rallies that lifted the Senators to 4-3 and 2-1 Sierra League victories at Ron McNutt Field. "We were able to keep calm and make the plays."

Lesson learned! Senators gain split of double header against Fallon

Even after surging to a 6-0 lead in the home half of the first inning, the Carson High softball team wasn't ready to relax during the second game of its Sierra League double header against Fallon on Saturday afternoon.
The Senators never let their foot off the gas pedal, tacking on five runs in the third inning and four more runs in the fourth on their way to a 15-1 victory to salvage a split of the twin-bill. Fallon took an early lead and held on for a 4-3 win in the opener.
