Confident and relaxed Senators win twice in bottom of the seventh
Two words came to Colby Blueberg's mind when he spoke about the Carson High baseball team's dramatic double header sweep of Fallon on Saturday afternoon -- confidence and relaxed.
"A couple of things didn't go our way today, but we just stayed confident and relaxed," Blueberg said after contributing to game-winning seventh-inning rallies that lifted the Senators to 4-3 and 2-1 Sierra League victories at Ron McNutt Field. "We were able to keep calm and make the plays."
Blueberg hit 3-for-4, capped by a single to drive Blake Plattsmier home with the winning run in the opener. In game two, the junior shortstop singled to lead off the seventh and scored on Rory Petersen's squeeze bunt as the Senators beat Fallon twice in a series that saw all three games decided by one run in the last at-bat.
