Today features a morning bike ride, outdoor journaling and adventuring at Riverview Park, a woman's veteran support group meeting at Mills Park, the last day of the Virginia City Rodeo and Fiesta del Charro, the KVNC outdoor concert at its Minnesota street studio and the finale of the 2019 Jazz and Beyond Carson City Music Festival. HopeFest, Comstock rodeo and jazz festival finale: Carson City region lined up for eventful weekend

Heading into the weekend, there’s a mountain of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days, including HopeFest9 on Friday, dirt bike races at Fuji Park, a job fair at Eagle Valley Children's Home, and the final weekend of the Jazz and Beyond festival and Levitt AMP outdoor concert series at the Brewery Arts Center.

Rocktober Fest a hit at Shoe Tree Brewing Company in Carson City

The first Punk Rocktober Fest at the Shoe Tree Brewing Company drew out a crowd of punk lovers with live punk rock music, a punk flea market, fresh food, games and beer served by the brewery.

The music was loud and lively Saturday night on the Minnesota Street Stage as Nashville's Southern Drawl Band entertained a crowd of hundreds as headline act for this weekend's Levitt-AMP concert series.

Nevada author, journalist, and poet Scott Neuffer has released his first LP rock album entitled “Perpetual Star.”

The self-produced album is being distributed worldwide by CD Baby and is available for streaming and download on iTunes, Spotify, Rhapsody, Google Play, iHeartRadio, Tidal, and other music stores. The eight tracks on the debut album have also been incorporated into a sync-licensing program through YouTube and other partners.

Ready for the weekend, Carson City? The weather should hold up on Saturday, but no promises on Sunday. Hit the slopes if you are so inclined, several Tahoe resorts have opened for the season. Runners should head out to Washoe Lake State Park for the first of the Be Bold, Run in the Cold series sponsored by Ascent Runs. If you prefer something warmer, head to Crossroads Lounge for their Grand Re-opening. It’s under new ownership and is sure to have something to keep you toasty.

Rotary Club of Carson City gears up for April's Beer and Pizza Championships

Now considered a Carson City spring tradition, the Rotary Club of Carson City will play host to its fourth annual Carson City Beer and Pizza Championships at the Carson Mall on Saturday, April 25.

The community is welcomed to taste, judge and enjoy finely crafter beer brewed from around the region and piping hot fresh pizza tossed and baked from local restaurants. Sixteen respected craft beer brewers and microbreweries will offer their top selections to attendees as they compete for awards during the Championships.
