Items available include hand-crafted notecards, hand-made apparel, accessories, and items for the home. Raggedy Ann dolls and Christmas bears will provide unique gifts.

I recently attended the the 50th Anniversary of the Nevada Historical Society where time stood still for a moment or two as artists came together at the historical Foreman-Roberts House to showcase talents that have withstood the test of time.

Car lovers are in for a treat: you can head down to the Carson Mall for their monthly cruise night, or roll into the Max Casino to get registered for the 33rd annual Run Whatcha Brung Car Show. The Trippin King Snakes take the stage in McFadden Plaza for a free all-ages show. Break a leg to the kids of Youth Theater Carson City; they open their production of ‘Bye, Bye, Birdie’ at the Community Center this evening.

Head downtown for the first Third and Curry Farmers Market of the season, then wander a few blocks north for Due Sorella’s Spring Vintage Market. You may as well just keep the car parked. With the monthly Wine Walk, Pour for Paws in McFadden Plaza, and Crystal’s Crusade Street Party Fundraiser on W. Telegraph, downtown is the place to be. There are so many options this weekend, so take a gander and enjoy your weekend.

Set out on your commute a little earlier and do something healthy. Take some time to check out the multiple art exhibits that we have around town; Writing from Mars in the Carson City Courthouse will be gone by the end of the month. If you’d like to be more involved in our community theater activities, attend the monthly board meeting of the Proscenium Players. They always welcome an extra pair of helping hands.

I Love Carson City’s St. Patrick’s Weekend Event Summary: March 17 - 18
Submitted by Danielle Cook on Fri, 03/16/2018 - 8:25pmOkay. This is one of the hardest weekend lists I’ve ever had to do. This dump of snow has cancelled some events, but others are in full force. Best I can tell, St. Patrick’s Day parties are not deterred by a little snowfall. There will be no parade in Virginia City, but the Rocky Mountain Oyster Fest is on. Head to downtown Carson for more green beer, Irish music, and corned beef and cabbage than you’ll know what to do with.

Carson City exhibit features Las Vegas artist Andreana Donahue

During a residency in Alaska, she used local wildflowers and berries she gathered in the summer months to create a dye for a quilt. When she had a residency in Corsicana, Texas, she used denim and mechanics’ rags to create a remembrance quilt she titled “The Lone Star.”

2nd Annual Western Heritage Celebration at Dangberg Historic Park
