I Love Carson City's Weekend Event Summary: Oct. 15 - 16
Submitted by Danielle Cook on Fri, 10/14/2016 - 5:49pmI’m usually a lover of sunny days, but right now I say bring on the rain. The moisture is a welcome help to our heroic firefighters in Lake Tahoe and Washoe Valley. Because of the wet weather and the recent fires, some activities have been postponed: most notably the Advocates to End Domestic Violence’s Annual Light After Dark Run. There are still plenty of things to occupy your time, but the weather may force more cancellations.

Genoa is a great place to spend an afternoon. This month’s Sweet Sippin Sunday features Tequila cocktails and music by Carson’s own, Janera Paxton of the Whitehats. Submitted by Danielle Cook on Fri, 07/31/2015 - 4:30amThe weekend has arrived and it’s bringing a plethora of activity with it. Car lovers will want to head to the Silver Dollar Car Classic at the Max Casino, known as the Carson Station just a few days ago. The Classic moves to Mills Park for the weekend. If the Mustangs and Broncos you prefer are horses, rather than Fords, you’ll want to grab a ticket to the Bull Riding Competition at the State Fair. Carnival rides, circus performances, and live music will keep everyone entertained. Make sure to catch the shuttle from the Casino Fandango parking garage: parking at Fuji Park is extremely limited. ‘Break a leg’ to the cast of Peter Pan. Youth Theater Carson City opens tonight at the Community Center.

Life Bridge Event sponsored by Abowd & Rose Financial Group
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Fri, 10/07/2011 - 9:33amLiving in Northern Nevada over this past month, we’ve been the sad witnesses to how tragedy can affect the lives of so many. The horrible shooting at the Carson IHOP that left 4 dead and injured 7, followed by the fatal accident at the air races that took the lives of 11 people and injured more than 70, is a sad and real reminder of how short our time on this earth can be. Left behind are spouses, children, grandchildren and other friends. Along with the unexpected death of their loved one, often comes with a loss of income and other unexpected expenses.
Bullying is NOT okay
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Thu, 03/24/2011 - 3:25pmBullying is no longer about the strong picking on the weak in the school yard. Most bullying occurs when adults are not present. We need to break the code of silence. Join us for our Anti-Bullying Campaign Event. The event includes Guest Speakers, Free Treats, Music, Pony Rides, Bounce House and more! This will be the perfect opportunity for everyone to come together and become educated on what can be done to prevent bullying! Let's Empower Ourselves, Stand up, Speak out... End Bullying. FREE "Bully's Suck! I'm Nobody's Victim" T-SHIRTS WHILE SUPPIES LAST!
