Rockabilly Riot, cancer awareness fitness events, Dayton Valley Days and more: Carson City region set for jam-packed weekend

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the Rockabilly Riot car show, Dayton Valley Days, a pancreatic cancer awareness walk at Silver Oak Golf Course, the annual Pooch Plunge at the Carson Aquatic Facility, horse endurance races in Virginia City, history talks at Mormon Station Park and much more!

Nevada Raider Nation: Carson City Chapter Game Watch

Nevada Raider Nation - Carson City Chapter will host an Oakland Raiders vs Minnesota Vikings game watch at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, at Jimmy G's, 301 N. Carson St.

New fans are welcome to join and sit (and scream) during the action of the game. Membership is just $20 per person.
Jimmy G's will offer drink specials during the game; those attending are welcome to bring a breakfast item to share, or donate to the cause.

The season opener features our Oakland Raiders vs the Denver Broncos. Membership applications to the Chapter will be available for new members or returning members. Membership fee is $20 per person.

Annual Special Olympics Nevada Summer Games held this weekend in Reno

More than 300 Special Olympics athletes from across the state will converge this weekend in Reno for the annual Special Olympics Nevada (SONV) Summer Games. The torch was carried through Carson City Friday on its way to the games.

This Sunday, Sept. 10th, the Raiders take on the Tennessee Titans at 10 a.m.
Food and drink specials are available at local restaurants within the Carson Lanes Bowling Alley

Mike Tice, offensive line coach for the Oakland Raiders football team brought his A-game to his 7th annual charity golf tournament weekend in June featuring the entire Raiders coaching staff, including head coach Jack Del Rio and a spate of former NFL players from around the country. Nevada Senate passes amended Raiders stadium bill; Sandoval to sign Monday

CARSON CITY — A supermajority of Nevada lawmakers on Friday pushed through legislation that will raise the room tax in Clark County to help finance a 65,000-seat domed stadium, clearing the path for the relocation of the NFL’s Oakland Raiders to Las Vegas.
