New Wave Crave

The Brewery Arts Center will deliver live music directly to the citizens of Carson City while practicing social distancing once again this week, this time in the Northgate neighborhood.

This Saturday, Sept. 12, the BAC is proud to present New Wave Crave. As if they were took a time machine from the 80’s, the party begins the moment these four talented musicians hit the flatbed.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region. Western Nevada College will host a memorial exhibit and informational presentation on the 9-11 attacks on Friday. Partnership Carson City will team up for a statewide suicide prevention virtual walk this Saturday. Along with live music and a 5K run/walk at Bob McFadden Plaza, there is plenty of excitement buzzing around the state capitol! Read on for more information.

The Brevet can be traced back to front man Aric Chase Damm’s college days where he realized he had a talent for writing scores to be used in student films. This lead to a licensing deal, tracks from the band’s albums would be used in film and television, and an every-growing popularity online. Today the Levitt AMP Carson City Music Series presented by The Change Companies announced its impressive lineup of artists who will perform at The Change Companies stage on the Brewery Arts Center’s campus each Saturday at 7pm from June 22 to Aug. 24. So grab your family, friends and neighbors and get ready to experience the power of free, live music to bring our community together!

The thunderous roar of jet engines will rumble across the skies above Carson City and the Carson Valley this weekend as the famed U.S. Navy Blue Angels flight team headlines the 2018 Aviation Roundup at the Minden-Tahoe Airport.

Live band New Wave Crave is performing a free 80s tribute show at the Carson Nugget, 507 N. Carson Street in Carson City, Friday and Saturday nights from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Ages 21 and older only.

It’s a very special Friday for the kids of Carson City: it’s the last day of summer vacation. Take full advantage of your free time and check out some of today’s activities. Live music at McFadden Plaza tonight features local cover band, Deception. The Bowers Mansion Bluegrass Festival kicks off tonight with a band in the Davis Creek Campground. The U.S. Air Force’s Jazz Ensemble performs at the Bob Boldrick Theater as part of the Jazz and Beyond Music Festival. Free tickets have been available at the Chamber of Commerce for a few weeks, and if any are left, their numbers will be limited.

Let’s get August off to a good start. The first Saturday of the month always plays host to the Downtown Carson City Wine Walk, but with the Jazz and Beyond Musical Festival in full swing, you’ll have even more reasons to meander around downtown. The afternoon ice cream social at the historic Foreman-Roberts House is a perfect family-friendly treat before heading to the Brewery Arts Center for tonight’s free concert. Break a leg to Wild Horse Children’s Theater and to the Proscenium Players. Both troupes begin the run of their winter plays tonight at the Brewery Arts Center. It’s a Christmas Shopping Extravaganza at Fuji Park. You’ll find a plethora of vendors, crafters, and artisans waiting to help make your holiday shopping hassle-free.

Welcome to the weekend, Carson City. Now that we are in November, thoughts turn to the holiday season. That means craft fairs. St. Paul’s Lutheran Family on Saliman welcomes you to their annual Craftique Open House. You’ll find the Young at Heart Seniors Club hosting a faire at the Douglas County Community Center. The Carson Nugget’s Sierra Room will be home to several artisans, vendors, and crafters during today’s wine walk. There’s quite a bit more, and plenty that doesn’t involve shopping, so take a look and have a great time.
