The Carson Artrepreneurs Workshop has added five seats and extended its deadline for applications to April 17. The series of four classes will be held on Wednesday nights May 3-24, from 5:30-8:30 p.m., in several venues in Carson City, including the Nevada State Museum, Brewery Arts Center, and the Studio at Adams Hub for innovation.

Beginning Dec. 19, Deborah Stevenson offers a refreshing, new class, featuring simple movements and guided meditations done sitting in a chair.
This form, called Sheng Zhen Qigong, is suitable for beginners who have an interest in meditation but "can't sit still." More advanced meditators will find it adds a whole new dimension to their experience, for it closely parallels lovingkindness practice. Its purpose is to open and purify the heart. Sheng Zhen means unconditional love.

Carson City to mark 75th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor with two events Wednesday

Please join on us to honor our Veterans and commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor at two special events this Wednesday. There will be a special ceremony at 10:51 a.m. conducted by the USS Nevada Memorial, Lt. Gov. Mark Hutchison and Carson City Mayor Robert Crowell to honor and acknowledge the contributions of the USS Nevada and her crew, raise the American flag, and solemnly read off the names of the 76 crewman who perished during Pearl Harbor. The ceremony will be held at the Capitol Grounds in Carson City, at the USS Nevada Memorial.
