Carson’s Got Talent, a talent show featuring performers of all ages and genres, has announced the competition lineup for its April 14 show that benefits Meals On Wheels.

Carson High School Theatre Arts teacher Andie Wilkerson and her students earned multiple awards from the Nevada State Thespian Festival last weekend.

The community is invited to sing Messiah along with choir, orchestra and world-class soloists during the live-stream Mormon Tabernacle Choir 2018 Easter Concert on Friday, March 23 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, located at 411 N. Saliman Road in Carson City.

A pre-concert feed starts at 6 p.m. The full live-stream event begins at 6:30 p.m.

The Brewery Arts Center Celtic Series goes Scottish this Saturday as folk music by the acclaimed duo Alan Reid and Rob van Sante take center stage at Maizie Harris Black Box Theater in Carson City.

Eagle Valley Middle School has an award-winning LEGO robotics team, and that extra-curricular falls firmly within the category of ‘STEAM.’ Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math in education is the focus of tonight’s ‘STEAM’ Night, chock-full of demonstrations, activities, experiments, and the aforementioned robots. Carson High’s more musically-inclined students can be found on the stage tonight at the Carson City Community Center for a Musical Theater and Choral Showcase. I’m going to apologize right now. I can’t anticipate what this storm system will throw at us, so some of these planned events could get cancelled. One event that is never afraid of Mother Nature is the Downtown Carson City Wine Walk. Come rain, shine, or blizzard, you’ll find can sip, stroll, and discover starting at 1 p.m. Saturday. Multi-talented music industry entrepreneur David Victor, formerly of the classic rock band BOSTON, returns to Northern Nevada on Saturday, March 17 to perform with his tribute act Bostyx.

Wild Horse Children’s Theater presents the Northern Nevada premiere of “Junie B. Jones, Jr., The Musical," a hilarious adaptation of Barbara Park’s wildly popular best-selling book series.

The Needham’s return to Carson City on Wednesday, March 7. Continuing a tradition of heartfelt music, The Needhams have released their latest work Fearless, which is already a favorite among Needham fans. Fearless is comprised of ten original songs. At this concert they will also be sharing their newest musical work with us.

Students from Wild Horse Children's Theater in Carson City won a Freddie G Award for Excellence in Music at the 2018 Junior Theater Festival West, which was held this weekend at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium and the Convention Center Complex.

You can probably scratch ‘hitting the slopes’ off this weekend’s list of options, but you can hit the ‘hill’ instead: Prison Hill, to be exact. You’ll find the start and finish line for Ascent Runs’ ‘Love Can Be Cold’ 5 or 10K at the Prison Hill Southern Trailhead. If you’d rather crawl than run, Virginia City’s ‘Devil Made Me Do It’ Saloon Crawl might be for you. Carson City's very own Celtic music series continues Saturday when The Valerie Rose Band takes center stage at the Brewery Arts Center in the Maizie Harris Jesse Black Box Theater.

A new club, and possibly a lifelong career for senior Lyric Untereiner, is starting at Carson High School.

Youth Theatre Carson City will hold auditions for Willy Wonka, Jr., this Saturday at the Western Nevada Performing Arts Center. The show will run four performances, April 16-18 in the Bob Boldrick Theatre at the Carson City Community Center.

We invite you to a special concert of the Capital City Community Band this Sunday, Jan. 28, 3:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church on the corner of Division and King Streets, Carson City featuring vocalist Stephanie Gansberg. This is our annual “support the band” concert, a free-will donation will be accepted to defray the costs of music, rentals, insurance and other band expenses.

Carson City Symphony Association announces the Joyful Noise Carson Children’s Choir will begin Spring semester rehearsals on Monday, Jan. 22. The weekly sessions will be held onstage at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall through May.

Playing in the snow probably isn’t an option for this weekend, but Singing in the Rain sure is. The kids of Youth Theater Carson City present a junior adaptation of the musical favorite this weekend and next. The Experimental Aircraft Association hosts ‘Young Eagle’ flights every few months at the Carson Airport to give kids 8 – 17 a plane ride to remember. New eatery, Bella Vita Bistro in the Carson Mall, brings local singer, Dougie L in to entertain the dinner crowd. FRIDAY, Jan. 12: Things to do in Carson City

Celtic music will fill the Carson City air this Saturday as “Blarney Man” appears at the Brewery Arts Center in the Maizie Harris Jesse Black Box Theater.

The new year, 2018, is starting very well for Mark Twain Elementary School music students. The Carson City School District is pleased to announce a $16,000 grant awarded to Mark Twain Elementary for music education. The monies will be used to purchase new musical instruments including a 50-piece world drumming set, steel drums, hand chimes and various other percussion instruments.

The Mortimer and Mimi Levitt Foundation on Tuesday named Carson City as one of 15 small to mid-sized towns and cities across America to win a Levitt AMP Grant Award of $25,000 in matching funds to present a free concert series at the Minnesota Street Stage. The Brewery Arts Center has been a recipient of the grant for the third straight year.

In a remarkable interfaith gesture and a unique way to welcome 2018, various religions got together in Reno (Nevada) to celebrate the ringing in of the New Year at midnight in a unique and divine manner, away from the glitter of the casinos and sending a message of unity to the world.

Carson City-native Grant Davis, 21, trained in acting and singing at Reno’s Take 2 Performers Studio for six years, and this Thursday, December 28, the actor returns to the school's Reno campus for a free public screening of his first feature-film starring role.
