The Nevada Day Golf Tournament in remembrance of Mayor Bob Crowell will be held at Silver Oak Ranch Golf Course on Saturday. Dozens of fundraisers, including the Benson’s Feed 4 Paws 4-H group, will be scattered throughout the Carson City and Gardnerville areas. Fall train rides, 'Light after Dark' fitness event, live music and more highlight Carson City area weekend events

Fall-themed train rides from the Virginia Truckee Railroad Company and the Nevada State Railroad Museum will be available on Saturday and Sunday. A virtual “Light After Dark” fitness event will be held on Saturday to support the Carson City-based Advocated to End Domestic Violence program. Nationally Recognized Classical Concert Series Announces In-Person Performances

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect the careers of musicians and artists, the performance nonprofit seeks to bring awareness on how chamber groups can perform safely for the community while providing a transformative, intimate music experience.

Carson City’s first 'Unsilent Night' happens Sunday at BAC as part of worldwide music event

An original composition by Phil Kline, "Unsilent Night" was written specifically to be heard outdoors in the month of December. It takes the form of a street promenade in which the audience becomes the performer.

Lineup for Brewery Arts Center's free summer concert series
Submitted by Brett Fisher on Sat, 04/30/2016 - 9:00amThe Brewery Arts Center (BAC) in downtown Carson City will be hosting a free summer concert series this year, sponsored by the Mortimer and Mimi Levitt Foundation.
Through the efforts of the BAC, Carson City was one of 15 cities nationwide awarded the concert series for 2016.
The Levitt AMP Carson City Music Series kicks off June 4 and will run every Saturday evening through August 6 with live music starting at 7 p.m. along Minnesota Street next to the BAC. The 10-week music series will include one Friday night show on June 17.
The concert series is free and open to the public.

Douglas County activates Search and Rescue in search for missing Petaluma woman
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Thu, 01/03/2013 - 10:34amThe Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating a missing 19 year old female, Alyssa Byrne, who was attending the SnowGlobe music event in South Lake Tahoe on New Years Eve.
The circumstances to her disappearance are unknown at this time. Douglas County Search and Rescue has been activated to assist in an area search.
Alyssa Byrne, from Petaluma, Calif., is 5 foot 3 inches tall and 125 pounds. She has black hair and blue eyes, last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, black yoga type pants, black snow boots and her hair was pulled back.

Come celebrate Cinco de Mayo with us on Saturday with the STARVING ARTISTS' SALE starting at 10am and our Wine, Art and Music event that will begin about 12:00noon in the Artisans Store (many of our artists will also be doing demonstrations during this event).
Also 12-5, folk music by the Solidays. They will present their eclectic and creative compositions on dulcimer, recorder, harmonica, guitar & mandolin, delighting audiences of all ages.
