After two very successful plays, and sold out audiences, CVCT is bringing you Rhythm and Rhyme, a night of the Music of Burt Bacharach! This musical will take place in an intimate setting, where you can feel the talent of the musicians as they make their performance “sing."

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region. The Nevada Day Golf Tournament in remembrance of Mayor Bob Crowell will be held at Silver Oak Ranch Golf Course on Saturday. Dozens of fundraisers, including the Benson’s Feed 4 Paws 4-H group, will be scattered throughout the Carson City and Gardnerville areas. Fall-themed train rides from the Virginia Truckee Railroad Company and the Nevada State Railroad Museum will be available on Saturday and Sunday. A virtual “Light After Dark” fitness event will be held on Saturday to support the Carson City-based Advocated to End Domestic Violence program. Classical Tahoe, a celebration of classical music that aims to enrich the cultural and community vitality of Lake Tahoe, is adapting its annual Orchestra Festival to a Chamber Music Series in Incline Village from July 30 to August 16. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect the careers of musicians and artists, the performance nonprofit seeks to bring awareness on how chamber groups can perform safely for the community while providing a transformative, intimate music experience.

For the first time, the Brewery Arts Center has organized Carson City’s "Unsilent Night." An original composition by Phil Kline, "Unsilent Night" was written specifically to be heard outdoors in the month of December. It takes the form of a street promenade in which the audience becomes the performer.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a mountain of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include a toy and gift drive for homeless kids and teens, the 12th annual Christmas Carol Playalong for Strings at the Carson Mall, Carson City’s first-ever "Unsilent Night" at the Brewery Arts Center, a Só Sol dinner with entertainment at Sassafras, a "Pink Party" cancer center fundraiser at the Lighthouse Bar, comedian Dan St. Paul at the Carson Comedy Club and more.

Acclaimed singer-songwriter Rita Hosking along with Sean Feder will perform a one-night only concert next month in the capital region at the Historic Silver City Schoolhouse.

Live stage music played simultaneously Saturday evening from the Minnesota Street Stage at the Brewery Arts Center on West King Street to Living the Good Life Nightclub-Bistro-Lounge at Adams and North Carson Street.

This Friday, July 21 at 7 p.m., Jessica R Tucker (saxophone) and Katie Lauder (piano) will perform a recital at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall. Ms. Tucker has been selected to attend the prestigious Gnessin Academy of Music in Moscow, which has produced the most world champion saxophone players ever.

The Family Stone band, founded by musical legend Sly Stone, will headline the 2017 Concert Under the Stars sponsored by the Cafe at Adele's on July 12 at the Brewery Arts Center's Minnesota Street Stage, said Adele's co-owner Charlie Abowd.

Summertime in Carson City is now in full stride, the busiest time of the season traditionally marked by the Fourth of July weekend.

The Brewery Arts Center (BAC) in downtown Carson City will be hosting a free summer concert series this year, sponsored by the Mortimer and Mimi Levitt Foundation.

Through the efforts of the BAC, Carson City was one of 15 cities nationwide awarded the concert series for 2016.

The Levitt AMP Carson City Music Series kicks off June 4 and will run every Saturday evening through August 6 with live music starting at 7 p.m. along Minnesota Street next to the BAC. The 10-week music series will include one Friday night show on June 17.

The concert series is free and open to the public.

The last Farmers Market of the season is at Third and Curry, so get your fix of fresh fruits, veggies, honey and more before the leaves fall. Wild Horse Children’s Theater is hosting a huge Warehouse and Multi-family sale; if you need a Halloween costume, you won’t want to miss it. The Teixeira Pavilion at Mills Park is where you’ll find the Autumn Earth Spirit Faire with vendors, workshops, and more.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating a missing 19 year old female, Alyssa Byrne, who was attending the SnowGlobe music event in South Lake Tahoe on New Years Eve.

The circumstances to her disappearance are unknown at this time. Douglas County Search and Rescue has been activated to assist in an area search.

Alyssa Byrne, from Petaluma, Calif., is 5 foot 3 inches tall and 125 pounds. She has black hair and blue eyes, last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, black yoga type pants, black snow boots and her hair was pulled back.

Come celebrate Cinco de Mayo with us on Saturday with the STARVING ARTISTS' SALE starting at 10am and our Wine, Art and Music event that will begin about 12:00noon in the Artisans Store (many of our artists will also be doing demonstrations during this event).

Also 12-5, folk music by the Solidays. They will present their eclectic and creative compositions on dulcimer, recorder, harmonica, guitar & mandolin, delighting audiences of all ages.
