Carson City Parks, Recreation, and Open Space to host two interpretive events this weekend

This weekend, the Carson City Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Department will be hosting two interpretive events at Carson River Park.

Going into the eve of Halloween, teeth will be chattering as the weather calls for sunny skies but with a chill in the air and daytime temperatures in the upper 40s around the capital city. Events around town Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019 include a Halloween costume walk at Riverview Park in Carson City, a "trick or trunk" event in Dayton, art showings, storytelling at the Carson City Library and more.

We're days away from our celebration of statehood and the weather around the capital city couldn't be more, well, Nevada-like with daytime highs near 70 and sunny skies. Carson City students to explore career options, tour Tesla in STEM and sustainability program

In partnership with Envirolution, a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring and empowering the next generation of leaders and workers to drive the growth of a sustainable economy, students in the Carson City School District will have the opportunity to charge their minds and connect career options by exploring STEM and sustainability programs with local businesses, including Tesla.

Events include the 100th annual Candy Dance in Genoa, the Carson City Community Center Garage Sale, free walks at Nevada State Parks, Virginia City’s Street Vibrations Fall Rally, the 31st annual All-Breed Dog Shows, The Beatles Flashback tribute band concert and much more!

Jamming into the midweek, events lined up for Wednesday, Sept. 25 around the capital city include a Carson City Chamber's Soup's On luncheon with a primer on blockchain. Pirate Pup Parade, viewing of 'Hook,' Wheeled Food and more Wednesday in Carson City

UPDATE: Due to weather concerns, the Pirate Pup Parade will be moved indoors outside of the Black Box Theater at the Brewery Arts Center. The film showing of "Hook" will be held in the BAC Performance Hall. Food Trucks will be outside in the parking lot.

Hello Carson City! I’ve been a little out of pocket since Burning Man. I have three sicknesses just pile on: playa lung, a head cold, and I wrapped the whole thing up with bronchitis. Doing life sick was pretty hard. But I found it was made possible by the number of times businesses in this area stepped up and said yes.
