With all of this heat, a couple reminders to those that venture outdoors: Beware of the rattlesnakes while you're hiking to that favorite fishing hole. Rattlesnakes are not just in the Carson Valley area, they can be found all the way up through the sierras high up as Kinney reservoir. So watch your step.

Due to extreme fire danger, campfires are only allowed in a designated camp area. This does not mean a nice place on the side of the road under the trees or next to a lake or river. Two 23-year-old New Mexico men and a 26-year-old Carson City man were arrested in the 5000 block of Carson River Road for felony possession of or receiving stolen property.

According to the report, Stephen Henderson, Daryne James Deck and Terrance Dale Shields were arrested after deputies were dispatched to the Carson River Park to meet with the theft victim.

The Carson City Sheriff's Office Investigation Division is asking for the public's help in identifying a man captured in video stealing a package from the door step of a Carson City residence.

The man with slicked back hair worn "man bun" style is responsible for the July 5, 2019 theft of a kayak paddle from a Rocky Bluff Drive residence.

Hello fellow anglers, I wanted to give you a small report on the higher lakes in the Alpine County area. Although down in the valley the temperatures have been in the low 40's to mid 70 degrees. The higher lakes are still in winter, spring mode. Temperatures are in the low 30's and not rising until after mid day and may only hold a mid 60 degree temperature for an hour or so. Be prepared when you travel to the higher elevations.
