Heading into the weekend, post-Christmas holiday activities continue around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include a Christmas Through the Years presentation at the Carson Valley Community Theater, Open Mic Night at A to Zen Gift Shop, musicians Lauren Kepler and Dan Cypher at Bella Vita Bistro, laughs at the Carson Comedy Club and much more!

This weekend come check out Leslie Townsend, star of Casino Boss, at The Carson Comedy Club! Leslie has appeared on A&E's An Evening at the Improv and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno! Leslie has been doing STAND UP Comedy for over 25 years. Her credits include Comedy Central, Caroline's Comedy Hour, Comic Strip Live, Grand Finalist in Star Search, and segments on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

She has worked Comedy Clubs , Theatres, Cruise Ships, Churches and Corporate Events that include Disney World, Las Vegas, Atlantic City and many events in the 52 states.

Carson Comedy Club presents Rick D'Elia at the Carson Nugget tonight, Friday, Feb. 17 at 7:30 p.m.

Originally from Boston, Rick was a recurring sketch performer on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and a finalist in the prestigious San Francisco Comedy Competition.

A world recorder holder will be on stage live, March 27, 7:30 p.m. at the Carson Comedy club inside the Carson Nugget. Geechy Guy landed himself a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records record when he told 676 jokes in one hour.

Geech was invited to San Francisco to compete in the prestigious Comedy where he finished in the top 10 out of 500 comics, two years in a row. Shortly after Geech secured a spot on TV’s “Star Search,” (where he beat Ray Romano among others) and went on to set the record for the most appearances by a comedian.

Never before has such a grand combination of iconic ranch, lakefront and forestland been offered for sale at once in Lake Tahoe’s rich history. This rare offering includes: historic Shakespeare Ranch with 133 acres of lakefront ranchland; Squaw Valley Homestead, arguably the most coveted landholding in Squaw Valley; and High Canyon Ranch, encompassing 321 acres of one of the last remaining privately owned large acreage parcels in the Sierra Nevada mountains.

KRNV Reno picked up on the story about Karen Royce, the student at Western Nevada College who complained about a human sexuality course where she said she was required to masturbate. (Check out the comments at the end of both of those links to hear from other students who think about the scandal.)

The story also was mentioned on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno last night, though he referred to WNC as "Western Nevada University." Congrats, WNC, Leno just gave you a promotion!
