Tahoe Fire and Fuels Team members will continue prescribed fire operations this week in the Lake Tahoe Basin, weather and conditions permitting. California State Parks and Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District are scheduled to burn hand piles on the east and west shores. Smoke may be visible.

Carson City emergency crews called to brush fire that spread into Winnie Lane apartments

UPDATE 8:10PM: Five apartment units were damaged and six people have been displaced due to the fire at 410 West Winnie Lane, according to Carson City Fire Department Battalion Chief Micah Horton. There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020 that there has been a significant increase in positive cases over the last week. Since Nov. 16, 2020, CCHHS has received over 1,000 positive results for the Quad-County region. Due to the high volume of cases, not all positive cases have been contacted. CCHHS is working to investigate the cases and reduce the back log in positive results.
