Evening with Divas, ghost investigations, Dia de los Muertos and more: Carson City area ramps up for eventful weekend

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the second annual Evening with Divas in Carson City, a Día de Muertos celebration at the Nevada State Museum, Nevada Artists Association’s 40th anniversary celebration, paranormal ghost investigations in Virginia City, a pie baking contest in Gardnerville and much more!

Big Changes coming to A to Zen, Carson City's Popular Gifts and Thrift Store

A to Zen has been a Carson City staple for the past decade. While they’re mostly known for their assortment of vintage finds, their large record and book collection, handmade gifts, costumes, and what may be the largest collection of knick-knacks in Carson City, they’ve also been engaging in community activities for years.

Don’t think that Sundays are just for rest, there is plenty to coax you out of your pajamas today. Take a trip with Santa at the Nevada Railroad Museum. Search for treasures and do your Christmas shopping at Fuji Park today, one of the multiple craft shows in town. Enjoy a free concert at the Community Center courtesy of the Capital City Community Band. Dayton is celebrating a small town Christmas tonight; bust out your best ugly sweater and join the fun. I hope you got your fill of naps last weekend because this weekend is chock full of fun to be had for all. You can Wine Walk until you Holiday Crawl downtown. Take your pick of craft shows in town. Kids won’t want to miss the Santa Train at the State Railroad Museum or one of the two performances of ‘The Peanutcracker’ at the Community Center. Whether you’d like to spend the days indoors or out, there is something for all ages in the Carson City area this weekend.

Due Sorella shines with Saturday Vintage Market

Due Sorella, better known as Two Sisters, hosted their annual Vintage Market Faire on Saturday. Vintage lovers gathered behind the shop to feast their eyes upon all of the unique furnishings and items they could dream of. Among the items are antique chairs and dressers to glass statues and handmade gifts.

Friends of the Carson City Library holiday handmade creations sale begins Thursday

Creativity goes wild this week as the Friends of the Carson City Library hosts its annual Home for the Holidays Handmade Gifts and Creations Sale from Thursday through Saturday at the Carson City Library auditorium.

There'll be plenty of unique creations, handmade accessories, stocking stuffers and ideal gifts for the holiday season, plus raffle prizes too.
