Governor Sandoval signs measure to align state services for Nevada’s veteran community

Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval signed Assembly Bill 19 on Tuesday, a measure voted unanimously by both houses and originally introduced by the Nevada Department of Veterans Services. AB19 expands the type of information related to veterans that must be reported to the Interagency Council on Veterans Affairs.

Ann Wilkinson, Former Chief of Staff to Governor Sandoval, Named NCJFCJ Director of Human Resources

(Reno, Nev.) – Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval’s former deputy chief of staff, Ann Wilkinson, has been named the new National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges’ (NCJFCJ) director of human resources.

Most recently, Wilkinson served Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval’s administration as an agency executive and as a senior advisor. In her role as deputy chief of staff, Wilkinson’s work focused on healthcare policy and serving as the Governor’s liaison on health and human service initiatives.

Nevada awarded $5 million to continue fight against opioid abuse

CARSON CITY — Governor Brian Sandoval announced Thursday that Nevada will receive a $5,663,328 grant to combat opioid addiction. The funding, which is the first of two rounds provided for the 21st Century Cures Act, will be provided through the State Targeted Response to the Opioid Crisis Grants administered by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
