The Giants of Zen will be playing their first concert of the year on Saturday, Jan. 12 at the A to Zen, 1803 N. Carson Street in Carson City. The duo is known for their catchy original songs, plus everything from David Grey to Led Zeppelin.

Live stage music played simultaneously Saturday evening from the Minnesota Street Stage at the Brewery Arts Center on West King Street to Living the Good Life Nightclub-Bistro-Lounge at Adams and North Carson Street.

The last weekend of August holds tight to summertime tradition. Get something fresh from the field at Farmers Markets in Carson City, Genoa, and Dayton. Celebrate the end of summer with La Chamba on the Brewery Arts Center outdoor stage – one more season of Levitt Amp Community Concerts successfully behind us. The 2018 Levitt AMP Carson City Music Series held its ninth of 10 free public outdoor concerts Saturday night, delivering the sounds of Americana to another packed crowd at the Brewery Arts Center.

Independence Day isn’t until Wednesday, but the red, white, and blue celebration starts now. See the trains under steam at the Nevada State Railroad and ride the rails to your heart’s content.

Join Earl Dutton & Friends for a night of fun, food, and music at Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint, Saturday March, 31, 2018 beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Join local favorites such as: CW & Mr. Spitmore, Canyon White, Makayla Taylor, Giants of Zen, Harmony Pines, with many more, plus a few surprises perhaps.

This concert is free but Earl is asking for donations to help support cancer research. So please dig deep and bring a donation of how much you can afford or maybe even a little more.

It’s hard to believe that it’s winter with these balmy temperatures. Take advantage of this beautiful day at the Downtown Carson City Wine Walk; grab a friend, a light jacket, and enjoy. See what the Wild Horse Children’s Theater’s elite performance troupe will be showcasing at an upcoming competition during a special presentation at the Carson Mall. With all the motorcycles on the road, you may be looking for some peace and quiet. Luckily, it’s fee-free day at all of the Nevada State Parks. Load up the kids, pack a picnic, at head to the great outdoors. Don’t miss out on the last-of-the-season Farmers Market at Third and Curry, stock up on local honey and load your basket with yummy stuff. Rumble, rumble, rumble. Street Vibrations brings quite a bit of traffic to the area, so please drive safely amoungst the swarms of bikes. Battle Born Harley is hosting one heck of a party, so head down there for bikes, brews, and lots of live music. For something quieter, the final weekend of 'Nightfall with Edgar Allen Poe' at the Brewery Arts Center is a great alternative. Funny lady and local favorite, Kat Simmons, is this week's featured performer at Carson Comedy inside the Nugget - stick around downtown and enjoy Southbound Train at the Westside Pour House.

Today, Tuesday we recognize the second year passing of Carson City Sheriff’s Office Deputy Carl Howell. On Saturday, an all-day music lineup featuring nationally recognized artists is expected to draw thousands to Battle Born Harley-Davidson, the site of the inaugural Carl Howell Memorial Music Festival.

There will be a volunteer and planning meeting this Tuesday night to prepare for the Deputy Howell Memorial Music Festival and VIP dinner. The volunteer meeting will be from 6 to 8 p.m., at Battle Born Harley-Davidson, 2900 Research Way, Carson City.

The weekend hasn’t even started, and I’m already exhausted just trying to decide what to do first! Live music, races, activities, and much more await you downtown as part of the Carson City Off-Road. Stewart Indian School is awash in bright colors, beadwork, and dancers from all across the country during their annual Fathers’ Day Pow Wow. Congratulations to the Show Tree Brewing Company by the Carson Hot Springs; their big grand opening bash includes multiple bands. Keep reading – this weekend has a whole lot to offer.

Tickets are available for a Aug. 18, 2017 VIP Celebrity Dinner the night before the Aug. 19 Carl Howell Memorial Music Festival in Carson City.

The special VIP evening dinner at Empire Ranch Golf Course, is for people to meet and mingle with the celebrities, athletes and musicians who will be in Carson City to honor fallen Carson City Sheriff’s Deputy Carl Howell, said organizer Don Alexander, who formed the nonprofit The Last Respond Fund, to raise money for the Howell family.

It’s not the sunny spring weekend many of us were hoping for, but it’s here nonetheless. Start the day at Applebee’s for a Flapjack Fundraiser to benefit the Eagle Valley Middle School Robotics Team. TOCCATA kicks off its 12th season of Bach’s St. Matthew Passion; enjoy free admittance to today’s dress rehearsal at Shepherd of the Sierra Lutheran Church. Join us Saturday night for a triple bill of fantastic music and entertainment as we bring you some of Carson's best local talent. Headlining will be Wildhorse Epidemic, playing new, old and original rock and roll.

These guys have been rocking the scene for the last couple of years and are gaining a huge following. Opening the night will be Wendy Revers, just up from southern California.

A musical lineup headlined by national award-winning musicians is expected to draw a crowd of thousands to the inaugural Carl Howell Memorial Music Festival Aug. 19 in Carson City.

As this storm system moves in, it makes it difficult for list-makers, such as myself. I cannot predict which of these events will be affected or cancelled because of the snow. The show must go on for the kids of Youth Theater Carson City. ‘The Lion King, Jr.’ is in its final weekend of performances.

Giants of Zen! will be playing at A to Zen 1803 N. Carson ST. on Saturday, January 21. Kicking off the 2017 concert series,this dynamic duo will put their acoustical spin on classic and current hits. Voted "Carson City's best kept secret" by those who know, you are sure to be entertained! Opening for them will be Wendy Revers. Just up from Southern California. you are sure to be pleased by this songbirds whimsical style, musicianship and beautiful voice. The fun starts around 7:00 pm. All ages are welcome and encouraged! A $5.00 donation is welcome and will get you $5.00 in store credit.

Whoa doggy, what a weekend.
