Trivia is on the menu at Westside Pour House: the weekly Geeks Who Drink pub quiz is tonight. The Senators versus Tigers rivalry continues as the faculty of the two high schools compete in a friendly game of basketball.

Epic Rides has taken over downtown with booths, bikes, beer, music, and more. The Carson City Airport is hosting their annual Fly-in and Open house, complete with hot air balloon rides. World War II aviation buffs won’t want to miss the Wings of Freedom tour at the Minden Airport. Steampunk meets Steam trains at the Nevada Railroad Museum. Stewart Father’s Day Powwow celebrates American Indian culture June 17-19 in Carson City

Hosted in partnership with the Nevada Indian Commission and the Stewart Indian School Alumni, the annual powwow includes quality Native American fun and is also a time for alumni, former employees, families and friends to gather at the former campus.
Nevada Outdoor Experience Youth/Family Expo
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Mon, 05/23/2016 - 6:22pmThe Nevada Outdoor Experience Youth/Family Expo will be Saturday, June 18. This free family event is designed to excite and inspire the next generation of outdoor enthusiasts. We have something for everyone.
Everything is FREE. Events include: rock climbing wall, metal detecting, archery, gold panning, BB gun ranges, laser shot, trap and skeet, and many, many more hands-on events led by specialists in their field. Over 20 organizations are volunteering to put on this event. Free raffles for the kids, starting around noon.
SLHS Hosts FREE Family Event

ALL grade school students (1st-8th grade) and their families are invited to attend one or more of the SLHS home basketball games on Saturday. Admission is free; there will be a snack bar, giveaways, half-time shooting games, and more.
Game times are as follows: JV Girls 1:00pm, JV Boys 2:30pm, Varsity Girls 4:00pm, Varsity Boys 5:30pm

An event for all ages of young people, there is something for everyone. This is the youth component of Wild Sheep Foundation's national convention, the Sheep Show.

All day, all night, all weekend long, there are numerous activities throughout our area. Take a good look at the list, grab your friends, family, and kids, and have a great weekend. The Experimental Aircraft Association is hosting the Ford Tri-Motor this weekend, and has Young Eagles flights for the kids: registration and orientation is at 8 a.m. Head over to Eagle Valley Golf for free family golf day.

Taylor Creek Visitor Center at Lake Tahoe to host Native Species Festival
Submitted by editor on Tue, 05/26/2015 - 8:22amThe U.S. Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit will host the sixth annual Native Species Festival on Saturday, May 30, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Taylor Creek Visitor Center located three miles north of South Lake Tahoe on Highway 89. This free family event is a great way to spend the day outdoors and learn about native species of the Lake Tahoe Basin.
Empty Bowls Carson City Glazing Day! Free family fun at Carson City Pottery
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Fri, 10/10/2014 - 10:49pmLocal artists, young and old are donating handmade bowls for a fund raising event that will be held during the Capital Tree Lighting ceremony on December 5th, 2013.
Restaurants are providing the soup and bread that will fill our Empty Bowls. For a minimum donation of $12, you may select one of the bowls and enjoy a warm winter meal to launch the holiday season. The artisan bowl is yours to keep as a reminder that there are empty bowls in our community. There will also be an art auction at the event!
