The Orchestra Program of Carson City School District is holding its Holiday Concert Dec. 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the Carson City Community Center. Just the idea of a concert in Carson City is exciting enough, but it gets even better because this musical event will cost audiences absolutely nothing except a little time and effort getting there. Admission is free.

The Orchestra Program of the Carson City School District will hold its Holiday Concert on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 6:30 p.m. at the Carson City Community Center.

Thanks to the Nevada Enrichment Program Grant, Life Skills Trainer Monica Marcinko from Accessible Space, Inc., is now able to offer free life skill classes to the community. The classes are open to all adults with special needs, seniors, veterans, etc.

CARSON CITY, Nev. – The Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada is hosting a series of free parenting workshops beginning Saturday, Nov. 17, at its Carson City campus, 1870 Russell Way, in Carson City. The classes are free, and lunch and childcare are provided on site.

Good day Carson City, it is Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018. It is also Election Day. Polls in Nevada open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Meanwhile, enjoy another day of sunny skies with a hike, brisk walk or bike ride around town. There's both a morning and evening hike offered through Muscle Powered or you can simply walk through downtown Carson City and alongside the capitol building. Also featured today are activities that promote diabetes awareness through Carson Tahoe Health, numerous art showings, local political party election night events and a classic film being shown at the Brewery Arts Center.

Spring has sprung, but apparently Mother Nature didn’t get the memo. Join the Carson Victory Rollers at the Carson Mall and take part in an indoor wine walk and rummage sale. Help Hot Spot Yoga and Fitness for Life celebrate their grand opening with free classes, health vendors, a 5K run, and more. Hit the dance floor with the High Sierra Swing Dance Club; their monthly dance party is held in the Grand Ballroom of the Brewery Arts Center. The Carson Tahoe Health Foundation is pleased to recognize the generous support and $10,000 grant funding recently announced by the Safeway Foundation.

Silver Strike CrossFit will mark National Police Week, May 15–21, by raising money for a Northern Nevada charity and with a special offer for members of local law enforcement. Throughout the month of May, the gym will accept donations on behalf of the Northern Nevada Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.).

Kaia FIT, a women’s fitness program, is offering free classes in Carson City and Minden next week.
Starting Monday, women can attend any classes, which will be a mixed hour of endurance-based exercises.

Regular classes in Carson City are offered at 5, 6 and 8:30 a.m.; noon; and 5:30 p.m. Minden classes are 5, 6, and 9 a.m.; and 5:30 p.m.

University of Nevada Cooperative Extension is offering a series of three free classes at 11 locations statewide for maturing gardeners. The “Gardening Smarter as We Mature” series teaches how to garden more easily as the body changes and ages.

The Brewery Arts Center, Carson City’s premiere epicenter for the arts since 1977 has partnered with the Carson Nugget as well as various vineyards and vendors to present Winter Wine and All That Jazz, an evening of wine tasting, music, dancing, a live art demonstration, silent auction and raffles.

This annual fundraiser will be held on Saturday, January 18 at the Carson Nugget from 7pm to 10pm. Tickets are $30 per person and are available for purchase at www.breweryarts.org. For more info call the Brewery Arts Center office at 775-883-1976

CARSON CITY, NEVADA – The Business Resource Innovation Center is launching a series of free business education classes beginning March 21, 2012. The series, “Hwy 101-RoadMap to Business Success”, will be held Wednesdays from Noon to 1:30 pm. These classes will complement the existing business library resources available, as well as individual business counseling and mentoring offered by the BRIC. These free classes will focus on key information for both entrepreneurs and existing businesses.
