The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Elizabeth Mercedes Krause, Democratic candidate for Nevada District 2 of the US House of Representatives. In the June 14 Democratic primary, Mercedes came in first with 47% of the vote out of a field of seven candidate. In the November 8 four-way general election, she will face off against Republican incumbent Mark Amodei as well as Independent American Russell Best and Libertarian Darryl Baber. Early voting begins on Saturday, October 22nd.

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be former Carson City Fire Chief Stacey Giomi, currently a member of the Board of Supervisors representing Ward 1. He assumed office on January 7, 2019 and is running for reelection.

Giomi serves as the Board of Supervisor's representative on the Carson City Cultural and Tourism Authority, the Carson Water Sub-Conservancy District, and the Western Nevada Legislative Coalition. He is also Carson City’s representative to the Nevada Association of Counties.

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Paul McGrath, who served eight years as Sheriff of Carson City (1987-1995). The principal topic of his remarks will be the reasons for his implacable opposition to the legal marijuana trade.

McGrath moved to Nevada in 1955 and married his wife Darlene in 1961. They had four children, two boys and two girls, three of whom pursued careers in public safety. With their children and grandchildren, Paul and Darlene celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2021.

Kimi Cole, former chair of Douglas County Democratic Party and current Chair of the Rural Nevada Democratic Caucus, will speakat Monday's Democratic luncheon. She became chair of Douglas Democrats in March 2013 and served four terms in that position. She was the first Democratic candidate to formally announce a bid for the lieutenant governorship, and if successful will be the first transgender candidate elected to statewide office in the whole of the United States.

They support a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict, with the Green Line as the border except for minor exchanges of territories, and with Jerusalem as the capital of both states.

Prof. Weinberg has served as a senior fellow at the National Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism in Oklahoma City and at the National Security Studies Center at the University of Haifa in Israel. His specialist research areas include right wing violence, neo-fascism and conspiracy theories.
