Speaking at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Carson City Clerk-Recorder Scott Hoen. The services provided by the Clerk-Recorder's Office to attorneys, government agencies, the judicial system, and the general public are mandated by the Nevada Constitution and the Nevada Revised Statutes.

Boys & Girls Club the topic at Monday's Democratic luncheon

Speaking at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Matt Sampson, Director of Operations at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada. Sampson has been involved with the Boys & Girls Club for more than two decades.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada serve more than 2,500 youth each year in Carson City and the Carson Valley. The club offers youth programming in core areas, including character, leadership, sports, healthy lifestyles, the arts, STEM, and education, offering free tutoring for students after school.

Lori began her service on the Board of Supervisors in January, 2015, representing Ward 3, and was elected mayor in 2020. She is known for her budget expertise, attention to detail on contracts, her compassion for those in need, and most of all her ability to work with others for the mutual benefit of the community.

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be biologist Craig Downer, who will explain with specificity why he strongly supports SB90, a bill which designates the wild mustang as the official state horse of the State of Nevada.

The Legislative Counsel’s digest of SB90 states: "Existing law designates numerous state emblems, including, without limitation, a state bird, state insect, state reptile, state animal, state fish and others. This bill designates the wild mustang as the official state horse of the State of Nevada."
