Carson City-based DeBug Computer faced a Christmas challenge. Every year, the company hosts a Photos with Santa event with proceeds going to a local non-profit. The DeBug team huddled with Santa to discuss how to reach the children safely during the coronavirus pandemic. They decided to ask children, with their parents’ consent and supervision, to email a letter to Santa@debugcomputer.net.

Debbie Barham, co-owner of Carson City-based DeBug Computer, Inc., has been named Northern Nevada coordinator for Ryan’s Case for Smiles, a non-profit with thousands of volunteers across the globe providing comfort to children with cancer.

DeBug Computer is hosting its annual Community Shredding Day event on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 10 a.m. to noon in Carson City and 1 to 3 p.m. in Minden. The event is free of charge and is designed to help protect against identity theft by shredding sensitive documents or obsolete computers and technology.

Feeding Pets of the Homeless welcomes DeBug Computer into its Donation Site community for pet food and supplies that will be delivered to local food banks, homeless shelters or homeless encampments. Donations may be taken to DeBug’s Carson City location at 1817 N. Stewart Street No. 30, or its Carson Valley location at 1560 U.S. Hwy 395 N. #C in Minden.

CARSON CITY — Debbie Barham, co-owner of DeBug Computer, presented a check for $500 raised at the company’s annual Photos with Santa event over the holidays to Barbara Slade, program and equine manager for Between Horses and Humans at the organization’s Gardnerville riding arena.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the 31st season of the Nutcracker Ballet, a Feast with a Hero fundraiser at Slot World, Small Business Saturday throughout Carson City and Carson Valley, photos with Santa, a Telegraph Square sign dedication, Polar Express train rides at the V&T Railroad and more!

The last Thursday of November means a big gobble gobble, Happy Thanksgiving to all. Enjoy in the games, festivities, activities at home and outdoors. Events are at a minimum, for obvious reasons, but the two big ones are traditions for us in the capital city. The Carson City Turkey Trot at the Governor's Mansion and the free Carson Nugget Thanksgiving community dinner. Enjoy your day and any slight break in the weather. More winter storms are on the way.

Headed into Saturday, April 27, 2019 we're looking at another picture-perfect spring weather day and cool overnight temperatures. There's lots of activities ahead, including a colorful fun run at Mills Park, a free paper and document recycling event hosted by Debug Computer, a prescription drug roundup, the Silver State's own celebration of the Aloha State, a Carson High School speech team fundraiser at Flavors of India, art showings and sales and a fundraiser at Flat Earth Pizza for a wonderful Carson City woman who is in the throes of cancer. With the surge of Internet and phone scams, it's critical that all be vigilant when anyone contacts you with a deal that sounds too good to be true, is threatening legal action and demanding money, tells you to buy prepaid gift cards (iTunes, Visa, Mastercard, etc), someone posing as Microsoft, Yahoo, or other Internet company telling you that you're computer is infected and want to charge to clean it up remotely, or wire or transfer money from your bank account.

There are only two more Saturdays until Christmas, and Santa Claus is back in Carson City again this weekend ahead of the big holiday.

Bring your documents and old electronics by DeBug Computer, Inc. at 1817 N. Stewart Street, #30, Carson City to have your documents destroyed and electronics recycled, keeping them out of the landfill.

Small Business Saturday is a day dedicated to supporting small businesses across the country. DeBug Computer was started by Keith Barham in 2000 as a means of helping others in the Carson area with their computer and technology needs. Thanks to community support and residents shopping local, it has grown to be one of the top providers of IT support in Carson City.

Santa Claus will be visiting DeBug Computer in Carson City on Saturday from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. to help bring Christmas cheer to those less fortunate. You'll find Debug in their new location at 1817 N. Stewart St, #30.

This is DeBug’s fourth year putting on an event to help the sheriff’s office with its Holiday with a Hero event, which pairs up Carson City sheriff's deputies, firefighters and public officials with dozens of pre-selected local students, many of whom don't have permanent homes and live in poverty.

Boy Scouts of America Troop 33, now in its 77th year, will host its 3rd annual “Send a Scout to Camp” Car and Truck Show Fundraiser on August 13 at Fuji Park in Carson City.

BSA Troop 33 is excited to announce it will be hosting its 2nd Annual “Send a Scout to Camp” Car and Truck Show Fundraiser on August 15, 2015 at Carson City’s Fuji Park.

The Show will be from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.; award ceremony starts at 3 p.m. Registration is $40 per entry. There is still time for pre-registration or you can register on the day of the event. Each participant will receive a T-shirt, one lunch meal ticket, and a dash plaque.

In Plain Sight Marketing founder Renee Taylor Plain and Carson City Mayor Bob Crowell each made $100 donations Monday to Holiday with a Hero. They are asking small business owners, those in local government and community members to give what they can.

DeBug Computer’s Carson City office will take photos of children with Santa Claus and make prints for parents this Saturday in exchange for a donation to help local homeless children have a Christmas with gifts through the 9th annual Holiday with a Hero project.

The Legacy Conference for women is once again coming to Northern Nevada. Capital Christian Center in Carson City is hosting this one-of-a-kind event that will focus on inspiring and empowering women to achieve their God-given dreams.

The Legacy Conference is partnering with many local businesses such as James Gaskets, DeBug Computer and the Sausage Factory to provide amazing music and incredible speakers.

Food For Thought would like to think all the people who came out and supported us at our Saddle Up For Kids Events. Friday, June 28th’s dinner at the Governor’s Mansion and Saturday, June 29th’s Carnival at Mills Park wouldn’t have been as successful if not for our volunteers!
