Carson City IHOP, site of 2011's mass shooting, has closed and is set to be demolished

At this time, IHOP corporate said they have no plans to reopen another IHOP chain in Carson City, but they do have three locations in Reno and one in South Lake Tahoe.
NHP reports a fatal accident Saturday morning on Highway 95A and Lyon County MM 27
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Sat, 09/14/2019 - 8:27amNevada Highway Patrol reported a fatal head-on crash Saturday morning on Highway 95A and Lyon County MM 27 (Wabuska). Two fatalities were confirmed, and both lanes were shut down while the fatal team was enroute.
As of 9:05 a.m., all travel lanes opened.
The names of the deceased and circumstances of the deaths have not been released as of yet.

“The opioid epidemic is so huge, even in a town of our size,” said Samantha Szoyka, the youth program and outreach coordinator for Partnership Carson City. “As a community, we are starting to talk about it, but people still don’t know what resources are available to them or how they can connect with those resources.”
The vigil, which begins at 7 p.m., will feature a guest speaker and booths distributing information.

Elderly couple dead in double homicide, investigators say similarities to Douglas murders

Jerry David was a former president of the Reno Rodeo Association.
The identities of the elderly couple still have not been released by the Washoe County Sheriff's Office, which is leading the investigation into their deaths that have been ruled homicides.
