Prism Photographics announces a major change to the current art gallery to become Carson Valley’s premier art gallery. The new Art Gallery@Prism, located inside the old Bently Wool Warehouse in Minden, will be featuring up to 30 regional artists from communities of Northern Nevada to the Sierra Nevada.

Art Gallery @ Prism, in Carson Valley, is a contemporary space for Sierra Nevada Regional artists to have their work exhibited. Our goal is to provide visitors a fresh experience to a fine art exhibition gallery.
June - Carson Valley Days Show. Show Dates: June 2 thru 28. Call to Artists on-line applications will be available March 16 and accepted through 12 noon, March 28. Works representing the Carson Valley are welcome, but not required.

Combining her passion for the Sierra Nevada wilderness and her love of painting, art instructor and professional watercolorist, Dana Childs is hosting a series of Plein Aire Painting Outings & Hikes.

A little over 40 years ago we were instrumental in helping acquire the Brewery Center for the Arts campus. We then set about creating our gallery and have been up and running continuously for the past 40 years.

Forty years ago, Carson City’s art and culture community experienced a massive boost when the Nevada Artists Association Art Gallery opened its doors.

The funding and building of this volunteer run gallery was spearheaded by local Nevada artists and donated to Carson City as part of the Brewery Arts Center Campus in 1979. Today NAA enjoys a membership of over 150 member artists, many of whom volunteer to host at and run Nevada Artists Association Art Gallery that has continually contributed to the arts and culture of the Carson City community throughout the past 40 years.

Join our 150 member-plus artists organization Nevada Artists Association and show in our Autumn Members Show. Show change is 9/7 from 10am to 1pm. The Autumn show runs from 9/8 to 10/18. Hang around for the wine walk noon to 4pm, and then an artist's reception featuring LaVonne Tulip Vasik and Dana Childs.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days, including the Jazz and Beyond Carson City Music Festival, a bluegrass festival at Bowers Mansion, Celtic favorites at the BAC, tours at the Nevada State Museum, train rides, standup comedy at the Carson Nugget, a block party at Silver Oak Golf Course, a Boy Scouts car show at Fuji Park, "'Kutz for Kids' and more.

An Open Studio Art event featuring Moongirl Studio will be presented by Mile High Jazz Band Association as part of the 2019 Jazz & Beyond Festival, and is supported by grants from the Carson City Cultural Commission, The Nevada Arts Council and National Endowment for the Arts, and private donations.

There will be an Acrylic Pour Jewelry Making Class on Wednesday, August 7, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m at Rustically Divine in Carson City.

Create modern-abstract fluid effects with acrylic pouring in three separate pendants, one silver chain included. “Anyone can do this!” says Dana Childs, who will teach the class.

The fee is $45 and includes supplies.

Note: pourings will need to be left overnight to cure, and be assembled, please plan to pick up artwork as soon as possible.

Explore the Metallic Acrylic Pour at Rustically Divide in Carson City on Saturday, August 17. Dana Childs, aka, dLauren teaches you how to create modern-abstract fluid effects with acrylic pouring onto stretched canvas.

“Anyone can do this!” says Childs.

The class is from 10 to 11:30 a.m. is $45, and includes supplies. Rustically Divine is located at 410 N Carson St Suite 101, Carson City.

As we begin to round out the work week heading into Thursday, July 18, 2019, we're looking at the same amount of sun with a daytime high around 90. Not bad for the middle of July. As we head into Tuesday, July 16, 2019 we're reminded it's halfway through the month and time sure is flying as we celebrate our summertime favorite stops around the Carson City region.
