Celebrating its 90th anniversary, Carson City Airport hosts annual open house this Saturday

The Carson City Airport is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year and will hold its annual Open House this Saturday, June 23 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The free community event, which annually draws more than 6,000 visitors, takes place at the Carson City Airport, 2600 College Parkway.

The Nevada State Museum and the Carson Doll Club are teaming up with exhibits and hands-on activities for all ages in celebration of World Doll Day. U.S. Senator Dean Heller will be hosting the Annual Chili Feed at the Carson Nugget in Carson City for a second time, during the Nevada Day Parade.

The Annual Chili Feed, featuring the Carson Nugget’s famous chili, began in 1982 and has become a Nevada Day Tradition. It was hosted by Former, US Senator Richard Bryan for the first 19 years and was then passed on to Former, Lieutenant Governor, Brian Krolicki before Heller took over last year.
