UPDATE 144PM: Hot Springs Road has reopened to traffic in both directions following an all-clear by Southwest Gas. The cause of the crash into the building, which severed a gas line, is under investigation.

NV Energy is urging customers to conserve electricity Tuesday and Wednesday between 2 and 9 p.m. in order to help offset energy supply issues caused by record-breaking heat throughout the Western United States. On August 20, 2020, the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection’s Bureau of Corrective Actions will be opening the public comment period for its Draft Proposed Plan: Operable Unit 8 (OU-8) Peripheral Areas located within the Anaconda Copper Mine Site in Lyon County. The public comment period will remain open through September 19, 2020.

Carson City arrests: Woman accused of beating car passenger, drug offenses

A 38-year-old Gardnerville woman was arrested Wednesday for suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, a felony, and misdemeanor domestic battery among other alleged offenses, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
