Sierra Lutheran High School to host Nov. 7 Christmas craft fair, vendors can sign up now
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Thu, 10/01/2020 - 6:21pmSierra Lutheran High School will host the 3rd Annual Christ is Christmas Craft Fair Saturday, Nov. 7, on the SLHS campus from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The school will be strategically using outdoor and indoor space on its 34-acre campus to promote the kickoff to the Christmas shopping season within social distancing guidelines.

Carson City's Richards Crossing residents receive gift giveaway from Red Hat Society

A local chapter of the Red Hat Society named the “Classy Sassy Bear Ladies” organized a Christmas gift giveaway for the residents. The giveaway, for which planning started over the summer, collected homemade and donated blankets, scarves and socks.

A wide variety of over 40 vendors offering everything from handmade Christmas decorations and gifts, to food samples, to art and jewelry booths and much more will be on display throughout the weekend.

Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Sun, 11/12/2017 - 2:40pmAn old-fashioned “Holiday Open House” returns to Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park Saturday, December 9 and 16 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm both days.
The exhibit includes toys from the 1870s through the 1890s that were played with by Fred Dangberg, Jr., and his siblings, as well as numerous toys enjoyed by Fred’s five children and one grandson from the 1900s through the 1940s.

Members, families and friends have donated quality items..furniture, kitchenware, Christmas Decorations and we have added a (Man Cave) a true "Garage Sale" with power tools, woodworking equipment/tools and garden tools with everything in between.
Items are not priced, instead buyers are asked to donate the amount that the item is worth, taking into consideration that ALL PROCEEDS BENEFIT VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES.
Historic engines, pumpkins and family fun at weekend Harvest Train Festival in Carson City

Trains run throughout the day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

High winds expected for Carson City and valley regions through Monday
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sun, 12/16/2012 - 11:17amGusty winds should arrive in Carson City and the valleys of western Nevada Sunday night prompting the National Weather Service in Reno to issue a High Wind Watch.
Winds will increase with a period of strong winds possible through the night and early Monday morning.
Southwest winds are expected to be 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 60 mph to 70 mph or more in the foothills and wind prone areas along Highway 395 from Carson City to Susanville and Surprise Valley, according to the weather service.
